Picture Summer day 4 - Summer Traditions. It is really hot in these parts of Texas and I wear flipflops not only the summer but most of the year.
We were allowed to alight from our vehicle in a small designated area of Kruger "at our own risk." Which is funny because just a few yards away we drove past rhinos, elephants and buffalo. Did all the animals come together and sign some sort of treaty not to eat us beyond the sign? They must've, I'm sure.
Also, this trip was my first outing with my new 24-70mm 2.8 lens (with which this photo was taken). It's no 50 fo sho but I think it's going to fit into my collection just fine.

I know other places have the same phenomenon, but it struck me today that neither I nor anyone in line with me was wearing any footwear other than flip-flops. This was in Costco (a big warehouse store, for my non-US readers). 8/28
