Phantoms Doubled-Down in Atlantic City

December 5, 2010

Atlantic City, NJ-A largely Phantoms supporting crowd in Atlantic City was not enough to help push Adirondack to victory as the Albany Devils won round 3 of the Time Warner Cable Cup 4-2 on Sunday evening.

Albany now leads the Time Warner Cable Cup 2-1 but there are still 9 games to be played between the local rivals.

Kevin Marshall scored his first of the year and Luke Pither rifled home his third but Adirondack had difficulties solving Devils' goalie Jeff Frazee on their other opportunities. Mike Testwuide assisted on both Phantoms goals.

The game was the second of Flyers goalie Michael Leighton's six day conditioning stint with the Phantoms. He made 23 saves on 27 shots.

Nick Palmieri and Adam Henrique were able to capitalize on early opportunities in the Phantoms zone to give the Devils the early 2-0 lead.

Mike Testwuide picked off a puck at center and Kevin Marshall took advantage of open space up the left-wing. His shot appeared to glance off the leg pad of Frazee and into the goal for Marshall's first tally of the year.

Adirondack picked up the energy in the 2nd period but Frazee was able to make a couple of acrobatic stops among his 12 saves in the frame. The Phantoms had a power play opportunity in the 3rd period with a chance to tie the game and had a couple more good shots but it was Trevor Kell who was able to steal the puck in the Phantoms zone and shoot one past Leighton on a shorthanded tally to boost Albany's lead to 3-1.

Luke Pither got it back for the Phantoms about a minute later. His top-shelf laser from the left-wing dot came after Mike Testwuide gained the line right up the middle and then flipped it over to the right wing to Denis Hamel who opted against shooting when he saw Pither open on the other side.

Adirondack kept the heat up but was unable to come up with the equalizer. Tim Sestito's shot from the right wing was saved by Leighton but Michael Swift scored on the rebound for a 4-2 Devils lead with 6:07 remaining.

Both teams went 0-for-3 on the power play. Adirondack outshot Albany in the 3rd period 11-6 and on the game 28-27. The next game of the Time Warner Cable Cup rivalry is January 1 at 7:00 at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

The game was one of four home games for the Devils at historic Boardwalk Hall but the majority of the fans were wearing Phantoms and Flyers gear many having made the hour drive from Philadelphia for the game. It was the first pro hockey game in Atlantic City since 2006 when the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies played in the ECHL.

Team Hype and Team Hype kids auditions. They're basically a college style, pump up the crowd, acrobatic team.

This is just after being asked if they know how to do a double back handspring or a flip with a tuck or.......ill have to find out what it actually was. point is, it was hard, esp for ones so young. (Many wisely opted out)

On the beach below the resort on Apo Island, right in front of the dive shop, a bunch of children from the village were doing acrobatic back-flips in the sand. When they saw that I was photographing them, they offered to pose.

I showed them I could take mini-movies of their tricks, which drove them absolutely wild. You can see the insanity that resulted by clicking here.

Hector's Dolphin are one of world's smallest species of Dolphin. Locally they are called Heckies or Mickey Mouse Dolphin. This species is almost always in shallow murky water which provides them with safety and comfort. Even though they are a small species they are still quite curious and will come very close to people in the water.

Phantoms Doubled-Down in Atlantic City

Atlantic City, NJ-A largely Phantoms supporting crowd in Atlantic City was not enough to help push Adirondack to victory as the Albany Devils won round 3 of the Time Warner Cable Cup 4-2 on Sunday evening.

Albany now leads the Time Warner Cable Cup 2-1 but there are still 9 games to be played between the local rivals.

The game was the second of Flyers goalie Michael Leighton's six day conditioning stint with the Phantoms. He made 23 saves on 27 shots.

Backflip in suit

I have quite long story for this one, so it would be better for you to think preciously if its worth reading for you=).So I will start from the real begining...My chruch-ICF Praha(www.icf-praha.cz) was no longer ago trying to decide where it should continue...And as we were thinking about it, we think out, that it would be really funny, atractive and original(and also cheaper) to have church on boat.So we started a project called „church on boat“.It started I think at june this year, and ow we have a lot of things solved and arranged, but we still dont miss one thing...something between 7-12 milions czech crowns...And because of this we decided, that this project just cant be realized without sponzors...And yesterday we had little promo dinner with presentation of our project on one of pragues boats...And it was qiute „high society“ event(because of invited guests), so we were told to wear suits. So I have to put on this piece of clothes which I really hate...And when I was thinking about how its uncomfortable and how its impractical I did think out, that it could be really cool to have photo of backflip in suit=D. And since then I just couldnt get it out of my head, so today just after school I put on suit, tell one of my friends to come with me with camera and went for it=)

By the way...If anyone of you is interested, or just want to know something more about „church on boat“ project, I will be glad to send you more informations=)

Jan de Groot bakery in Den Bosch is the most renowned and respected baker of Bossche Bollen.

Their window display included this acrobatic Zwarte Piet, who flipped over the swing that he hangs from. In his right hand, he holds a switch, which he uses to beat naughty children before stuffing them into a sack and taking them to Spain.

0:15 - 0:25

For clip one I have chosen a clip from an Olympic contest. From this clip you can see a perfect

view of body strength throughout the muscles used to perform the selection of flips.

This clip also shows modest movements and flow within the body while the girl attempts

to do the acrobatic display. when trying to animate this clip it would be excellent chance to show the way the human body has contact with the floor and the flexing of the leg joints reacting to the impact of the flip.

2. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSyAe0hzkpc

0:02 - 0:12

For clip two I chose this clip of a Taekwondo student performing a kick. You can see

an excellent display of the body twisting into the kick while maintaining momentum

and still keeping balance on the landing. This clip would be very interesting to animate and

potentially could be helpful in the future for such things as fighting scenes in games.

3. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVAqwyv1uN0

1:10 - 1:20

For clip three I chose a clip of another Olympic event. You can see a very clear view of the muscles on the body straining as he picks the weights up from the ground. The man shows a clear sign of progression as he is trying hes hardest to lift the weights in the 3 stages. From an animation viewpoint it will be a good chance to learn how to show that a prop has mass through pure animation.

Jeden z těch bližších záběrů, kde je hlavně lopata a já=)Proti sluníčku, takže takový zajímavý, možná až ne udplně dokonalý, ale mně se líbí=D

Backflip against sky

One of the closer shots, where you can see mainly just the big shovel and me=)Its taken against sun, so its kind of interesting, maybee imperfect, but I like it this way=D
