This is my very good friend Sharon Blythe and George Seville who runs The Delancey. I first met Sharon when I moved to New York. It is hard for both of us to believe now, but we were both in a dance acrobatic company called "Rockercise". We would be hired out to do fashion shows and performances. We would dance and do acrobatics to rock music. We would dance as partners and do flips in the air over each other. It was very difficult training. We would train almost every day. I eventually stopped. We were training one day, we were flipping over a wooden bar, I landed on my neck and had a scare.

Sharon's father was Art D'Lugoff, who owned the Village Gate in NYC for almost 40 yrs. (1958-1995) It was one of the best venues NYC has ever had. Sharon worked there for almost 20 yrs. Her father also started The Mercer Arts Center in the early 70's when she was a teenager. She has 3 daughters Charlotte 23, Alice 21 and Ace 5. She presently works with Lori Eastside, who she met in 1978 when they performed together in Rockercise. They have been Casting films together since the early 90's . She has also been working with Chipmonck ( the legendary lighting designer who was the MC at the Woodstock Festival) he started his career at the Village Gate when her father took him under his wing. Sharon and Chipmonck are working on 2 books , his and Sharon's, with The Village Gate as the main subject.

George is currently the promotional director of the Delancey. He was one of the original producers of a party called MotherFucker. It was one of the biggest rock/alternative parties in recent NYC history. Michael T., Justine D., Johnny T., and George pooled their resources and talents to create Motherfucker - a club that encouraged a mixed crowd while simultaneously seeking to empower women, transvestites, and queers. The result was a club that reinvigorated the New York nightlife by injecting the most outrageous elements of gay and straight culture with a hearty blast of rock and roll influence. Prior to that he was an independent party promoter around the downtown New York scene. In the Late nineties,He was the first band booker at Coney Island high, and he was also one of the original guitar players in the band D Generation.

Phantoms Doubled-Down in Atlantic City

December 5, 2010

Atlantic City, NJ-A largely Phantoms supporting crowd in Atlantic City was not enough to help push Adirondack to victory as the Albany Devils won round 3 of the Time Warner Cable Cup 4-2 on Sunday evening.

Albany now leads the Time Warner Cable Cup 2-1 but there are still 9 games to be played between the local rivals.

Kevin Marshall scored his first of the year and Luke Pither rifled home his third but Adirondack had difficulties solving Devils' goalie Jeff Frazee on their other opportunities. Mike Testwuide assisted on both Phantoms goals.

The game was the second of Flyers goalie Michael Leighton's six day conditioning stint with the Phantoms. He made 23 saves on 27 shots.

Nick Palmieri and Adam Henrique were able to capitalize on early opportunities in the Phantoms zone to give the Devils the early 2-0 lead.

Mike Testwuide picked off a puck at center and Kevin Marshall took advantage of open space up the left-wing. His shot appeared to glance off the leg pad of Frazee and into the goal for Marshall's first tally of the year.

Adirondack picked up the energy in the 2nd period but Frazee was able to make a couple of acrobatic stops among his 12 saves in the frame. The Phantoms had a power play opportunity in the 3rd period with a chance to tie the game and had a couple more good shots but it was Trevor Kell who was able to steal the puck in the Phantoms zone and shoot one past Leighton on a shorthanded tally to boost Albany's lead to 3-1.

Luke Pither got it back for the Phantoms about a minute later. His top-shelf laser from the left-wing dot came after Mike Testwuide gained the line right up the middle and then flipped it over to the right wing to Denis Hamel who opted against shooting when he saw Pither open on the other side.

Adirondack kept the heat up but was unable to come up with the equalizer. Tim Sestito's shot from the right wing was saved by Leighton but Michael Swift scored on the rebound for a 4-2 Devils lead with 6:07 remaining.

Both teams went 0-for-3 on the power play. Adirondack outshot Albany in the 3rd period 11-6 and on the game 28-27. The next game of the Time Warner Cable Cup rivalry is January 1 at 7:00 at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

The game was one of four home games for the Devils at historic Boardwalk Hall but the majority of the fans were wearing Phantoms and Flyers gear many having made the hour drive from Philadelphia for the game. It was the first pro hockey game in Atlantic City since 2006 when the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies played in the ECHL.

Backflip off shoe

And not off some random shoe...by this I want to introduce you my new shoes with air cushion under heel. They were for a good prize, so I decided to try if it will really work...And If it will it"ll spare me from few paintfull moments when I land bad=)

Set Description: Another Chicago Air & Water Show has come and gone. Over the course of three days, 2,900 frames, and a pretty wicked v-neck farmers tan, I've assembled a set of shots covering all acts of the show. So if you missed any of the action - i've got you covered.

On Friday and Saturday I shot the performances from show center at Castaway's. On Sunday, I had the opportunity to shoot from a much higher angle - the John Hancock Center. Hope you enjoy!

On the beach below the resort on Apo Island, right in front of the dive shop, a bunch of children from the village were doing acrobatic back-flips in the sand. When they saw that I was photographing them, they offered to pose.

I showed them I could take mini-movies of their tricks, which drove them absolutely wild. You can see the insanity that resulted by clicking here.

I saw this guy doing several back-flips on the sand. After asking him if I could take some snapshots of his acrobatic jumps, I was lucky enough to get his silhouette and just a glimpse of the sun, resulting in this high contrast image.
