New friends in Gregorytown

As soon as I got to the Refuge yesterday morning, I noticed a flock of birds flying all over the place. They were flickers! Young flickers. One of them got too close to my camera. ☺

It made me wonder how many eggs they laid........so I googled it when I got home..........5-8 eggs! That's a full house!

Something else I noticed was dozens of young red-wings. They seemed to be pretend roosting. Several would land in a dead tree and pose for a while. Then they would all fly all around, choose another tree, and pose for a while........rinse and repeat. lol

During the First World War, the area around Etaples was full of Commonwealth reinforcement camps and hospitals.

Very sad to be saying good bye to flickr following the latest news. As an international student on a very low income, I cannot afford to go pro. I have over 1000 images on my account already which means after January 8th I will no longer be able to upload anything, and some of my photos will be deleted by flickr to ensure I keep within the 1000 photo limit. I am so sad about this after sharing photos here for the past 4 years and following some great people.

I have started uploading on 500px (rjmiller1807) and will continue sharing on instagram (beccamilller - with 3 l's!).
