Southern yellowbilled hornbill (Tockus leucomelas).

This bird laid claim to this bench & did not flee as we approached . We were staying at the Etosha restcamp of Okaukuejo, Namibia.Where we were able to enjoy the close presence of much wildlife.

ducks are not too noticeable, but if you look closely at the center of the frame, you can see them :)

“I find me, leave me, go towards me, come from me, nothing ever but me, a particle of me, retrieved, lost, gone astray, I’m all these words, all these strangers, this dust of words, with no ground for their settling, no sky for their dispersing, coming together to say, fleeing one another to say, that I am they, all of them, those that merge, those that part, those that never meet, and nothing else, yes, something else, that I’m something quite different, a quite different thing, a wordless thing in an empty place, a hard shut dry cold black place, where nothing stirs, nothing speaks, and that I listen, and that I seek, like a caged beast born of caged beasts born of caged beasts born of caged beasts...”

Daisy Fleabane is an annual native species of aster found in Michigan (as well as other States). Its name "fleabane" refers to an early usage of its flowers which, when dried, supposedly repelled fleas.

Happiness hit her like a train on a track

Coming towards her, stuck still, no turning back

She hid around corners and she hid under beds

She killed it with kisses and from it she fled

With every bubble, she sank with her drink

And washed it away down the kitchen sink

The dog days are over

The dog days are done

The horses are coming

So you better run

Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father

Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers

Leave all your love and your longing behind

You can't carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over

The dog days are done

Can you hear the horses?

'Cause here they come

And I never wanted anything from you

Except everything you had

And what was left after that too, oh

Happiness hit her like a bullet in the back

Struck from a great height

By someone who should know better than that

The dog days are over

The dog days are done

Can you hear the horses?

'Cause here they come

Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father

Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers

Leave all your love and your longing behind

You can't carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over

The dog days are done

Can you hear the horses?

'Cause here they come

The dog days are over

The dog days are done (here they come)

The horses are coming

So you better run (here they come)

The dog days are over

The dog days are done (here they come)

The horses are coming

So you better run

A group of starlings flee a cell tower after I throw a rock at the base of the tower.

Fleeing from a heavy thunderstorm, this rush-hour consist top-and-tailed by Re 420 226 and 217 is engaged on a run from Pfäffikon ZH to Koblenz AG. In the background is the town of Illnau and its church. Illnau, 01-07-2020.

This massive cat is the boss of the neighborhood!

When he passes by even the crows flee ...

I went to him and shot a few photos, which bored him.

Then I approached and offered him my hand to sniff;

he sniffed, and I became bolder;

he even let me touch and stroke him - up to a point:

then he bit heartily into my hand that the skin almost separated from the flesh!

When he let go, I had deep bleeding wounds.

We played together for a short time until I left him.

Anyway, he of course claimed his territory!

He is the boss!

HOP-A-LONG flying away from his dinner post with forensics stuck to his talons. we all can guess what he was up to.

today I actually saw 2 Cooper's hawks here at my feeders. Only very briefly though. Fingers crossed they will team up and nest nearby.

Notice how I even got his eye in the shot, even though he's flying away? Whooo! Hooo! Sometimes it's just fun to give yourself a "thumbs up"

Me thinks everyone's getting tired of HOP-A-LONG. Well, I'm not, LOLO!!

Not a good photo, but a nice memory.

I walked alone through the forest and unexpectedly saw a deer, unfortunately the poor beast was startled by turning on my camera and fled immediately. I didn't have time to focus.

Lesson learned, from now on in the forest always the camera on!

Psalm 139:7: “Where can I flee from Your Spirit? Or where will I run from Your presence?”

“Oh, God, why is Your peace so hard to find,

Like the answer to the questions that haunt my mind?

Oh, Lord, Your ways are not like mine.

Hear my cry of desperation,

As I see the wickedness of my ways.

For You alone are my salvation.

My heart longs to serve,

But wanders so aimlessly.

Oh, Lord, You deserve every part of me.

Lord, I've learned this one thing to be true,

Is that the closer I get to You,

I see I'm a stranger...

Al though I call You ‘Lord’ I must confess

I'm a stranger to Your holiness.

A stranger to Your holiness.”

I know I haven't been posting too much recently, nor getting around to checking out all of your great photos, sorry! Just been through some things with moods and such, plus the new land. I think I'm about back to me though, and doing some hosting and dancing again.

Hopefully see you all around more.
