Single SB900 bounced vertically off the ceiling, positioned about 5ft from Ruth. Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens; tripod mounted etc. White door used as backdrop. Post in Photoshop. NB: Appearance of skin tones will depend on the quality of your monitor.
Styling by Ruth L
Because I'm shooting Ruth L quite often now (she loves modelling for the camera and has a lot of creative ideas of her own) I've started a set, just for shots of her:

Week 4: Last-Minute holidays. Unmeasured small amount of clay. Tools and time short, but not as strict as earlier weeks.
Made on commission for a rad nerdy science friend, so she could give it to another rad nerdy science person. The white spot under the eye glows, just like the real thing!
Nokama, laying vulnerable on the carcass of Junkbot, is exposed to three, count them THREE LED white lights from Joshua's new crank flashlight.
Oooooohhhhh...
The Fenix LD22 is a digitally controlled constant current multilevel flashlight. It has six levels of output, which not only allows the user to select the best compromise between brightness and runtime for any given task but also has ability to aid in an emergency.
Left to right:
- Dorcy 2xAA incandescent flashlight--not very bright, but you don't always want to blind yourself
- Brinkman 3xAAA 3-LED--produces a good amount of light, but again, not going to light up a room with it. Reverse "clicky" on the tailcap
- "Gordon" (only name on the light)--2xAA incandescent, side-mounted reverse clicky
- Mini Mag-Lite--2xAA with Nite Ize LED upgrade
- No-Name 3-mode (4 if you count tailstanding as a candle) light. High-->Low-->strobe. 1x18650, not sure what kind of LED is in this one. High's blinding, Low's probably about 50% of that, strobes in high mode. Side-mounted reverse clicky.
