On this mix: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Passion Pit, Deadmau5, Simian Mobile Disco, Calvin Harris
Sometimes mixes are easy. This one wasn't. For some time now, I've had the idea of bookending a mix with two versions of the same song. So when I found a track called Flashback, that name seemed very appropriate for such a mix. After much struggling with lack of songs, difficult track arrangement, and complex transitions, I'm done. I hope at the very least it will be entertaining :)

Where it all began Most people have no idea how and where we started. Here’s a quick glimpse into the beginning. This picture is before we ever had a karate studio, before we ever knew how good we would be at teaching and changing kids lives! All we had at this point was a desire to […]
This flashback picture from September 6, 1998 is such a treasure to me as it marks the very first time I saw The Outfield perform live and met with them personally. As the biggest fan of this band, this was a moment I thought would never happen-- especially after the grunge movement of the mid-90s had literally retired nearly every band and artist attaining popularity during the 80s. So when The Outfield was scheduled to perform at the Big 80s Block Party concert in San Antonio, there was no way I was going to miss it. And thanks to a guy from Atlanta whom I'd only known from our online correspondence at the time, I was able to meet the band backstage after their set. Pictured, from left, are: lead singer and bassist Tony Lewis; myself, grinning ear to ear; guitarist and songwriter John Spinks; and bad-ass drummer Simon Dawson. Check out the band's Web site to catch up with them.
speaking of family resemblance ... here i am with my mom at some undetermined age with my favorite doll from when i was a kid ...
I don't have a photo that quite fits the theme, but I think this one could be called Flower Power! Me and my friend, aged about 4, dressed up in our bikinis, accessorised with flowers (I think they may be frangipanis).
Edit: I'm on the left. Probably the skimpiest bikini I've ever worn (or ever will LOL!)
