Tracking back "Me from 5 years ago" ^♥^

October 14 2011 Gen was admiring the view in Ashover

In a scene that could be from the 40's or 50's (minus the CVS Pharmacy), a pair of 4000 series Rapid Transit Cars cruise through the Washington and Wells stop on Wednesday. The pair made a trip from Skokie to Roosevelt Rd and back during the early afternoon.

Max took Sammy under his wing from day one and taught him how to get into all kinds of trouble and rely on his cuteness to get out of it

Base Fosca - 1x.

Hip-Hop - Lorena - 1x.

Flashback - Mohda - 2x.

Not that the flashback is not good, Blues is not so bad at times. Uploading photos from the PC is kind of fun. My eyes are not as good AS they were . The computer screen is a stress with my eyes. As a child I was told if I wore girls clothes that I would go blind.

Interrupting the present... as I've just realised now would be the perfect time to upload this same bus, same route, same place photo of Arriva Guildford & West Surrey 3930 (GK51 SZJ) back in January 2009, so nearly five years ago now.

Doesn't time fly!

Note it's branded for the 21/22/32 Surrey Hills services. The 51-reg DAFs carried this branding with the 52-reg DAFs branded for the 34/5, but in practice, allocation was random! It's also demonstrating its manual blinds here - a replacement for the unreliable power blinds these buses had when new.

3930 was the first DAF to gain interurban livery, done in October 2009, and should be repainted again soon.

This Flashback takes us to Thursday. Dec 25 ,1969 christmas day ,outside Hazzard Range county government center .County Sheriff's deputy Eddie Armijo walks towards the office where Sheriff's Lieutenant Ralph Davis talks with Sparta Mayor Edward Coaltan second .

About the big changes coming to county and city of Sparta in the next decade ( 1970s ) .

Starting in July 1970 all county sheriff officials were give a county vehicle to drive ,before then some had drive their own vehicles like deputy Eddie Armijo 1955 Chevy Bel Air and Lieutenant Ralph Davis 1967 plymouth fury . Sparta Mayor Edward Coaltan the second was last mayor of Sparta in 1972 the county and city merged so now it is just county government , Edward went on to serve as county treasurer in late 1970s . He passed away at age 98 in 1988 . Lt Ralph Davis retired in 1972 and moved to ,CA he Passed away in 1991 . Deputy Eddie Armijo just about to mark his first year working with the Hazzard Range county sheriff's office . He was promoted to Sergeant in 1973 and became to the Sheriff's office first detective in 1975 . He was fired in 1979 after crashing his patrol car ,because he was drunk. He found work at G.D. Enterprise's as a head of security he retired in 2005 and now lives at Eagle lake retirement home .

Side Note G.D. Enterprise's was started by current Hazzard Range County Chair Commissioner George Dallas ( G.D ) and back in 1979 the company was only 12 years olds .

Very scary to think that my age has doubled plus a few years since this photo was taken. I'm guessing the date to be somewhere around 1988.

And that is my original nose!

I shouldn't complain. I had/have a good life.

somewhere in the cascades. washington state, i'm guessing.

1971(?)

i think we all look a little puffy eyed, like we'd had a rough night's sleep in the tent.

Back when these came out, Nixon was Time's Man of the Year, and the Godfather won the Oscar for Best Picture. 1/15, f/5.6, Tri-X, Vivitar 70-150 f/3.8 CF on AE-1

I was going through some old prints of mine and found a shot I took of the Supernova SN1987A in the LMC. I was 16 at the time at Downer in Canberra. The shot is over my house with a new Tasco 3T-RB 3" Newtonian in the foreground, and taken with a Pertri Racer rangefinder camera 45mm f/2.8. This was taken shortly after the discovery.

I remember on the night of discovery when I was lining up on the Tarantula Nebula in my x30mm finderscope (which was always a bit of a struggle to find), but for some reason I could find it quite easily that night. Before I could figure out why, I a bright light source in the sky over in Gemini caught my eye and I immediately thought "supernova!". Alas it was only a bright satellite, and I didn't return to the Tarantula to finish my train of thought. The moment of discovery had passed.
