This was a very interesting shot when you could read that it is the first time I have seen a bird with four wings. The picture is taken at the Farne Islands in Northumberland

(Pardon : voici ce à quoi je pensais au moment de titrer cette image pleine de Piafs heureux devant leur point d'eau... Il a fallu un certain nombre d'essais avant d'y arriver !)

This bridge joins counties Waterford and Kilkenny. It is known locally as "The Cat Flap" because it lets the people from Kilkenny (the Cats) in and out. The fog was so thick you couldn't see the top of it.

The Surf Scoter has the most elaborate bill of the 26 or so duck species that can be found in our neighbourhood. This is the closest I have ever seen one for getting a decent picture.

Mandarin Duckling

American Avocet coming in for a landing in a coastal California wetland during breeding season.

Cormorant flapping and airing its wings at Weymouth Dorset UK a few years ago now. Came across this shot while looking through some old photos.

I love the wing shapes of flying birds.

It was a great privilege to be able to get so close to the wildlife in the Falklands. This Rockhopper had been preening after a shower in the freshwater spring and finished with a final flap of it's wings.
