With London’s South Bank full up with competing buskers on a Sunday afternoon, the challenge for entertainers is to come up with something fun and unusual enough to catch the eye (and hopefully the wallets) of passing tourists.
There’s no doubt that this fire breathing tuba player managed to create a suitable stir, and hopefully his imaginative efforts were suitably rewarded by passers-by.
There wasn’t a great deal to his act – he basically played along in time to an old fashioned track, with bursts of flame accompanying each parp. And that was about it.

Flaming Gorg, Green River, Wyoming- Utah, (USA) border from the Unitas Mtns. I was driving east and photographed what I then thought was a beautiful scene. In Colorado I was given the book: Cadillac Desert, about the history of water from Jeddiah Smith onward in the USA and the draining of the rivers of the west. When I drove back through this area headed wast after reading the book, I had a whole different view of this Flaming Gorge area - a sadder view. Read the book !

From a long ago fishing trip to Baja. Probably a poor use of an add on filter for Photoshop, but otherwise it was just a guy holding a fish. In a small way a tribute to Salvador Dali and "The Burning Giraffe"

A shot from a few weeks ago. Sorry I have not been around much just lately but my 89 year old friend and neighbour is still in hospital......or rather she is now in a community hospital for recuperation. So, at the moment, I am busy looking after her property and visiting her as her family all live a good distance away and sadly cannot visit her very often.

On valentines day it's sometimes nice to give your loved one a flaming heart to show them how much you care.
The Animus Art Collective’s installation, Flaming Cactus, transforms ordinary streetscapes through the use of vibrantly colored zip ties affixed to street poles. Originally installed at FIGMENT 2011 on Governors Island, the installation brought its playful energy and whimsy to Astor Place in Manhattan.
The zip ties, once wrapped and locked around the street poles, have tails of excess material. These tails create the effect of cactus needles sprouting from the trunk of the street poles.
In an interview for the Figment Project, Animus co-founder, Preston Dane said, “Our hope is to show that adding art to a community or space doesn’t require a lot of resources, formal education, or even money. Creativity is something we’re all capable of.”

Phil & Carl decide that the ladder to success at the post office is missing a few rungs. So they quit their PO jobs and that very day, before they turn in their uniforms, they sign a 10 year lease on a restaurant in NYC. Backed financially by a huge loan from a mob boss, they are scheduled to open in less than three weeks, and they have already waded through all of the money. They also, for some reason, never lock the doors of their building.
Zippy’s, a popular crosstown hot spot, has been crowded ever since Cy Manamalancia, a notorious mobster, was shot there over 20 years before. WHAT IF SOMEONE COULD BE MURDERED IN THEIR RESTAURANT? What follows is a fast-paced, farce filled with wacky characters & events. Winner of the American Comedy Award.

The Flaming Chalice is the symbol of my church. Like any good symbol, It has a variety of meanings, depending on the viewer. For me, it stands for the Divine, for the love and care we owe each other and for the people who came before us and made our world a better place.
This Flaming Chalice picture is made entirely from Clay. I made it as a 'thank you' gift for someone in the denomination who has been very kind and understanding.
