I see more state flags flown in Texas than any other state that I've visited. That's pretty cool. This US Flag and Texas Flag are both very large. They're located in front of the Taste of Texas Restaurant next to the Katy Freeway (I-10) in Houston. To gain some perspective, those are the tops of trees at the bottom of the frame. (Excellent restaurant, by the way).
Flag flying high over Amelia Island, Florida back on a sunny afternoon in October 2012.
I'm always hopeful that my country can get back on its feet again and stand united as we did back in those first horrible weeks in September 2001.
We've drifted away from democracy since that day - we need to embrace the things that make America strong, not the things that divide us.

One man and his flag - anti-immigration protestors pass a counter demonstration by pro-immigration protestors in Dublin, separated by riot police.
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation, under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

UK Union Flags fluttering in the wind during the London Olympics. Playing with the settings in my new D3200 to try to capture the transparency of these small printed plastic flags.
I put up a new American flag and hung the new USAF flag that my sister-in-law gave me for Christmas.
Northbank lighthouse-Dublin In 1800, a survey of Dublin Bay conducted by Captain William Bligh recommended the construction of the Bull Wall. After the completion of the wall in 1842, North Bull Island slowly formed as sand built up behind it.

Not the greatest composition, but I thought that these Flags were perfect for Flag Day in the U.S. They are located in Disney's Boardwalk Resort area.
In the United States Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777. The United States Army also celebrates the Army Birthday on this date; Congress adopted "the American continental army" after reaching a consensus position in the Committee of the Whole on June 14, 1775.
In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.
The pictured group installed the flagpole and raised the flag in front of Fairview Hall for Election Day 2024. From the left: Annie, Louie, Doug, Jack, and Whitney. This is actually a street photo, even though the street is not paved. In case you are wondering, I believe that 135 people left their ranches and farms to vote. I am not sure, but I see this image as my Mount Surabachi moment, who knows maybe it will resonate with modern Americans.
While some pro athletes kneel for our National Anthem, some Veterans families kneel before their graves. Freedom Isn't Free!!

It was a wonderfully stormy day and the sun came out for a brief moment and I looked up and it hit the American flag and made it glow. Grabbed the camera and there ya go.

Flags surrounding the Washington Monument in Washington DC. There was a storm on the horizon coming our way and would soon be dropping rain; this is how I saw the storm coming in my minds eye.
