This fjord is a branch of The Sogne fjord, the longest fjord in Europe. It leads into Flåm which is a very popular destination for cruise ships visiting the west coast of Norway.

Another shot of the eagle we saw from the boat in Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska. This one eventually ended up getting a seagull egg from a cliffside nest.

The fjords and islands of southern Chile are as about as remote as you can get. Punta Arenas, easily the largest and most important town and focal point of the region, where most visitors arrive to explore the Patagonian wilderness, is only accessible from northern Chile by air. Only one, solitary road leads out of it to Puerto Natales, three hours’ drive away and the jumping off point for visits to Torres del Paine National Park and beyond. The surrounding wilderness is made up of sculpted fjords and glaciers, at the point where the ice-spiked Andes finally crumble into the sea. Its landscapes are a mosaic of mountain ranges, forests, glaciers, fjords, lakes, wetlands, and valleys—virgin ecosystems of unmatched beauty—and are home to a wide variety of plant and animal species.

The hike up to Preikestolen Mountain in Norway was really awesome. The weather wasn't :D But I think the photo nevertheless is quite ok.

summer evening.

A panorama of Tracey Arm Fjord

The western fjords of Iceland were a truly amazing place to visit. The mountains rising above tranquil blue green waters and dramatic skies were a landscape photographer's dream come true. I found this dock which extended out into the vastness of the landscape.

Norwegian fjords

The spectacular scenery of the Norwegian fjords was created by a succession of ice ages and has not varied much since the times of the first human settlements.

In western Norway you will find all the contrasts, from solitary reefs to some of Norway's largest cities. To cross the road between the city life to the quiet country life or the wild nature, there is only a short road.

Along the riverbanks, inland and at the end of each fjord, you will see small communities and villages that have their own identity that conveys their local customs and products that have been cultivated here.

Fiordos Noruegos

.

Ferries are part of the road system in Norway. For example, ferry fees are charged in a similar way to tolls on certain sections of the motorway, on some (few) bridges or in some (few) tunnels, and city tolls in some (few) larger cities. This works by recognizing the license plate and then issuing a bill (on ferries, you can also pay by credit card as an exception) or by having a transponder, the so-called AutoPass chip, installed on the windshield, which is used to recognize a vehicle. Paying with cash is generally uncommon in Norway and is also almost impossible anywhere.
