I didn't drip enough batter off the fish, so in spots it was too thick and thus slightly doughy, but overall it was very nice.
And wow, does my left hand look fat.
Bristol Indiana Fire Department Fish Fry & Bazaar May 17, 2014
Members, Volunteers, Family and Friends and the Public turned out to support the fund-raiser Fish Fry, held at the Bristol Indiana Fire Dept. on Elkhart Street on Saturday, May 17, 204 from 3 to 7:30pm. Carryout was available for those who wanted to take their meal home.
The cooks kept busy frying the fish to serve the many who came to enjoy the food and the fun at this popular event. A number of local restaurants and other establishments donated such things as grilled chicken, salads, assorted varieties of pies, punch, several kinds of beans, bread sticks and more.
A craft bazaar was held by the women’s auxiliary that featured jewelry and other items. Pop, water and whole pies were also offered for sale.
The cool weather didn’t bother those who attended, since tables donated courtesy of the Elkhart Community Schools were set up inside the Fire Station bays. Volunteers breaded the filets, and after the fish were deep fried, runners hurried to take the fish from the fryers to the serving tables to meet the demand for more and more of the tasty fish.

The Friday Night Fish-Fry at the fishing village of Oistins is an experience not to be missed - for both locals and tourists. Turn up before sunset to watch the sea turtles by the pier, then find one of the outdoor cafes to sample the fresh fish meals. Then browse the many brightly lit stalls to the sound of reggae from the main stage.
