another version of the fisheye sunrise picture. A bit more clearer and color adjusted.
Took this one with the Sony a7R and a no name Canon to NEX adapter. Because of that, i couldn't adjust the aperture value. So it's 4.0 and around 14mm.

3 hours of 30s exposures out of the cottage window. Shot on the Canon 1000D with a fisheye lens and compiled in StarStax. Further processing in Silver Efex Pro 2 & Lightroom 3.
Quite pleased with this as a first serious attempt. :)

This morning the sky was spectacular, unfortunately I missed the fire red colour, I watched it as I drove to the lake wishing I'd set off earlier!!
It was one year ago on the 10/11th October 2024 that we had a major display of the northern lights. Here is a new image from the first wave of activity, taken using a fisheye lens to show the view from the Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank Observatory on the horizon to almost overhead.
Went out, took tonnes of boring photos, deleted them all. This one is the only one that made the cut.

This one is the full seven exposure @ 1 stop HDR combination, using PS2 and some adjustment layers afterwards. Local adaptation 1.35 px radius / Maximum threshold. Nikkor 10.5 fisheye. it's a little more swirly, a little more disneyland. Probably could have lost one or two high end exposures.
Fisheye distortion to the max using the Samyang 8mm. This is the M25 junction 21a which is the intersection with the M1. I think the curves make this resemble a big eye...
Moonset - December 26, 2014 from Weatherly, PA. Canon 6D and Lensbaby Circular Fisheye 5.8mm. Getting a bit too cloudy so playing around with a new lens.
