Fijian fish Vakalolo
- fish cooked in rich coconut cream and served with local root crops Cassava and Taro
The lion fish belongs to the Scorpion fish family. This brightly coloured fish is usually found in coral reefs, especially in shallow waters hovering in caves or near crevices. Lion-fish have venomous fin spines that can produce painful puncture wounds.
Fatalities, however, are rare.
This delightfully contrasting fish loves to seek protection in the nooks and crannies of the rock work in both its natural environment and the aquarium. It's unusual to observe this fish swimming in the open unless it's feeding, which made this elusive beauty just that much more rewarding to capture (digitally).
A wide variety of fresh fish and seafood products are available in the market. This part of the market had a very distinctive odour!

had a whole fish pond to myself (not too big really) and had to go through some tedious tasks to dress it (make it look good) using some aesthetics. My reward = the pictures

The fish bead is made of clay, and is smoke fired. The chain is woven silver embroidery floss. It actually hangs lower than is shown here.
