I guess I can't argue that direct marketers know this kind of B.S. will encourage people to open up the crap. Even I did a double take, because I'm actually expecting some material from Countrywide (this was not it). Face it, people--first class is first class. The post office did not "rush" this envelope just because someone wrote some options on the label and checked one of them. See the upper right box? That's the only part the post office cares about--and so should you.
In first class, the fully reclining seats are 21" wide with 55" pitch (distance between the back of your seat and the back of the seat in front of you).
There are three preset memory positions: Relax, Comfort & Take Off. Then similar to a car, the multicontour power seat can be adjusted in five positions for personalized comfort. The elevating foot & leg rests make any flight relaxing
As consumers, we've allowed the airlines to degrade us to air freight & cargo shipping. Perhaps memory seats and 55" pitch exceed a conventional coach fare. But on this same flight, coach seats are only 17.7" wide with 32" pitch!
Evolution of the average domestic airline seat width:
1960s coach standard – 17"
1970s coach standard – 18"
1990s coach standard – 18.5"
2000s coach standard – 16.5"
That's nuts! The airlines are literally squeezing us at every turn.
