During a graduation ceremony held at the City of Greenville's Emergency Operations Center on Friday, July 22, 2022, Junior Fire Marshall Academy cadets demonstrated the skills learned during the week for family, friends, and Fire/Rescue staff as well as received certificates and medals for completing the academy.
Greenville Fire/Rescue's Junior Fire Marshall Academy is a free summer camp for rising fourth through sixth graders. Campers learn about several different topics including how to use a fire extinguisher, perform hands-only CPR, first aid, water and pool safety, and more!
New Ingleton Colliery was sunk by the New Ingleton Collieries Ltd in 1912-13 with the first coal wound in September 1914. By 1919 the output from the Six Foot seam was about 2,200 tons a week, whilst from 1921 working was concentrated in the deeper Four Foot seam and later the Yard Seam. Production ceased in February 1936 due to geological and economic problems and salvage continued until 1940. A few buildings survive around the former pithead including the first aid room where the red cross on the door is still evident over 70 years on.

London black cab drivers receive first aid, acid attack and emergency childbirth simulation training, as e-haling app mytaxi rolls out its innovative ‘Knowledge+’ programme, which is designed to equip 17,500 drivers with a set of essential new skills. Issue date: Monday March 19, 2018. The Knowledge+ training course, which is the first of its kind in the world, will see London black cab drivers have the ability to benefit from bespoke emergency training, backed by St John Ambulance. Skills learnt will include cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic first aid, the handling of acid attacks and emergency childbirth situations, which is all aimed at ensuring safer journeys for passengers.
