This is Boundary Monument 15 along Mason and Dixon's line that marks the western boundary of Delaware. It is a crownstone, one of a group of larger boundary stones placed every 5 miles and carved with the coats of arms of the Calvert and Penn families. The line was originally marked to delineate the boundary between Calvert's colony (Maryland) and Penn's (Pennsylvania).
The scaffolding has come off the State House. It could be that the renovation is almost done. My camera phone lens needs cleaning, I think.

Salisbury MD's WBOC TV gets the numbers wrong in an election night crawl... It should be Markell on top in this one.
The entrance to one of the WWII-era coastal batteries that made up Fort Miles, now part of Cape Henlopen State Park. I believe that U.S.E.D. stands for "US Eastern Defense", but I'm happy to be corrected by anyone who knows better.
UPDATE: And So I have been. USED stands for United States Engineering Division." Thanks, MIke!

Dewey Beach, Delaware, USA
Dewey Beach lies on a small strip of land between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay, is about one mile long and two blocks wide. Despite its small size and low year-round population of about 300, it is not uncommon for 30,000 to descend upon the town during summer weekends. Numerous bars and restaurants line Coastal Highway (Delaware Route 1), the town's main street.
The town of Dewey Beach, Delaware is a frequent summer vacation destination for Washington, D.C., residents (121.78 miles / 2 hrs 46 mins from The White House)
Delaware it the second-smallest state in the United States after Rhode Island.
The town hosts the Dewey Beach Music Conference during the last weekend of September. This event began in 2002 and has been a huge draw for unsigned bands from all over the country.
In 2011, the NRDC Natural Resources Defense Council awarded Dewey Beach with a 5-Star rating in water quality.
It is believed that the name was given to Dewey Beach following the 1898 Battle of Manilla (Spanish–American War) when Admiral George Dewey became a national hero.
