Although it was little more than a dusting our first snow came early this morning.
It was a wet snow, clinging to everything and very beautiful. This was a lone leaf
still hanging on - even though it is dried and twisted; it managed to capture a bit of snow
in it's fragile grasp.
back in southwest wisconsin. FIRST SNOW! we’ve gotten away with a relatively mild winter so far, but the november shorts running weather is probably gone for good. how much snow will we get and will our friend the wooly bear caterpillar be proven correct? time will tell!

I was surprised when I woke up this morning and found two inches of snow on the ground. I decided to take a couple of pictures immediately since it will probably melt by noon. The bullies didn't even seem to notice it but they went outside about six this morning and were more interested in going back to bed.
Yeah, I know I am suppose to cover my rhododendron in the winter...but I haven't all these years, so why start now?
This photo is not the height of excellence, but I'd just like to mark that it's Oct 20th and it's snowing ... we were pretending it's just sleet or slightly frozen rain before, but now it's full on snowing.
First sketch in new sketchbook with handmade (not my own) paper. I HATE IT! Sucks all the color and had to re-work and re-work. I guess I'm off to buy a new journal.
