Just before we moved in - the hallway.
Actually what you see is the original front door and window: we're standing in what was once a front veranndah, but has been enclosed to give the original structure two new rooms.

Just before we moved in - the bathroom.
The second largest room in the house, a giant 'L' shape - and all that's in it is a large corner bath with shower head, and a hot water heater. All of the interior walls are missing except for those two large yellow panels you see there - everything else is the exterior weatherboard planks - which are full of gaps and holes. IT'S BLOODY FREEZING IN HERE!

The hallway is the most extreme example of the 70s-style 'wood' accents that adorn the house. At some point they'll go; for now, they add a much-needed level of funk to the interior.

I used my old sewing machine a lot more in those days and soon got a newer one but didn't know my 5 yr. old here would become a master seamstress/prop maker for NYC theater back then 1983 :>)
Just before we moved in - the pool and shed.
We've got a swimming pool, but it's very green - and will probably stay that way until spring!
Behind is a VERY well built corugated iron shed, with it's own air conditioning unit perched on top!

Do not look directly into the carpet! The service part of the garage, which houses the washer and dryer, hot water heater, and furnace, is carpeted in this totally dizzying tartan. The garage floor is large enough to easily accomodate two MINIs, comfortably. I'm thinking black and white checker garage tiles. Am I right? :)

I loved this house.
This was our very first house - we bought it in1991 and moved out in 1999, so I am quite sentimental about it.
Every now and again I suffer from a recurring dream where I find myself inside the house without the owner's knowledge or consent, having a good poke around, and I always "almost" get caught. Breaking and entering isn't my forte though, and I have no desire to do this in real life.
I am glad to see that they have maintained the colour of the front door, which I painted Black in about 1993 because I wasn't too hot on the standard ubiquitous Ipswich Town livery.
I think they could do with slightly longer net curtains though...
;-)

Comfort comes in many forms. And the one made for you comes in the form of a well-ventilated bedroom in spacious apartments at Wellington.

Just before we moved in - the toilet.
A very narrow room, for soe reason all the tiles have come off the left and rear wall, while the right wall is jus a loose bit of villaboard. The blue tiles have half come off the floor, and it's pretty damp and nasty!
Just before we moved in - the kitchen.
The cupboards are incredibly low down, and not very big (notice they're much shorter and less deep than even the free-standing oven).

The master bath is actually two rooms. One has the large closet and vanity; the other has the toilet and shower.
