Dallas was first settled in 1841, by John Neely Bryan as a trading post near the banksof the Trinity River. The cabin in this photo and the few next ones is a restored replica of the first house in Dallas. The original house was almost destroyed by a flood in the late 1800s. The cabin stands at Dallas County Historical Plaza also known as Founders Plaza less than a quarter mile from Bryan's original site.
The smallest of the three bedrooms. That dark area on the floor is the shadow of my 10-20mm lens from the flash, NOT a stain. The carpets in the place, despite being totally weird, are in superb shape.

One of my goals for the trip was to take pictures of the places where I used to live and spend time. On our second day in St. John's, Ally and I went around to do the Tour de Neighborhoods.
This is the first house I lived in, until I was four years old. My room was in the front of the house; not sure if it was the one you can see, or the one behind the tree. The window to the left of the door was the living room.

The second largest room in the house, a giant 'L' shape - and all that's in it is a large corner bath with shower head, and a hot water heater. All of the interior walls are missing except for those two large yellow panels you see there - everything else is the exterior weatherboard planks - which are full of gaps and holes. IT'S BLOODY FREEZING IN HERE!
