I'm a people person. As long as they play nice, I won't have to shoot anyone.

First Glasgow are in the process of branding some of their AD Enviro 200MMC's that are used on service 240 (Wishaw-Glasgow). 67048 (SN65 OHA) is seen here in Motherwell with the new branding clearly visible.

…of a new job!

I was only on the market for a day. Woot!

I sense good things to come.

In my own mind I have no doubt that we would have summited if we continued. The weather at that point was as good as we could have expected albeit a little breezy and cool. With the forecast for bad weather and strong winds 'later in the day' whatever that really means, would we make it out?

The descent was more the issue for me than the ascent. None of us had been here before and looking down on the ridge that we were to descend was, to be quite honest, pretty daunting. Is this the sort of descent that we would risk doing in bad weather? No thanks.

The ropes attached and packs lifted we took our first steps away from the summit. I felt a certain emptiness. So here we were, the three of us, heading down a steep ridge toward a sea of cloud waiting below.

The ridge though was a pretty exciting view. I couldn't believe that was our path out. Ion was off without a hint of hesitation. This was his element. The Romanian cowboy seemed well at home on this rock and snow ridge and with confidence started the descent. I was nervous but still excited at the route. The drop on either side of this ridge was...well, check out the photo!

The first time my girlfriend Helen visited my condo and I couldn't resist taking a few pictures. I love the way she was laughing, smiling and how I caught her in this position. One of the first of many special moments...

Ponce de Leon claimed Florida for Spain in 1513. (Christopher Columbus discovered North America in 1492 but actually landed in the Bahamas). Other Spanish explorers later found gold and silver in Mexico and Peru. The treasure was sent back to Spain in ships sailing in the Gulf Stream. Spanish settlements needed to be built in Florida to protect the Spanish Treasure fleets. King Phillip II of Spain sent Pedro Menendez to settle in Florida and drive out French garrisons recently established there. In September 1565, Pedro Menendez with 700 soldiers and colonists landed 'here' and founded St. Augustine making it the oldest continually occupied European settlement in North America ~ Saint Augustine Inlet

soon and very soon

Central Park - Early next morning before the rest of the city wakes up. It always amazes me to be in the middle of the city and not hear or see a soul for a few hours. Just me and a few birds hopping from tree branch to tree branch, hunting for a few berries to eat and me hunting for images to capture.

Another one I've worked on for years, this one from 2016. I wanted to make the First Light the subject, not the beast. Dark dark, and then there's the light beginning to expose the beast. It is now as I envisioned, between a painting and a photograph, sort of how the Pictorialists envisioned photography. I showed this yesterday to a zoom salon group I belong to, and one distinguished photographer exclaimed, "le Fauve - it's the Wild Beast of Fauvism." I found that fun, so its subtitle may be "Homage to Fauvism" or "Homage to le Fauve" while the style doesn't have the bright colors of Fauvism, but it does have that Beast.

the Z train just got onto IHB rails, when they took this YPRYC-09 as well. Somehow fitting their plans better, the harbor held the Z train back and put this job for Yard Center around him, passing a tall LED "dwarf" that does nothing more than govern movement off an old industrial spur that was storing a piece of MOW equipment. A much taller signal off to the right governs movement off the BN's connection from their Chicago Subdivision that comes down from nearby Congress Park. LaGrange, IL.

One still extant piece of industrial trackage in Syracuse is the First Ward line along Hiawatha Boulevard on the city's north side, although the crossing of 7th North Street into the old Crouse-Hinds complex was recently removed. A local crew with a GP35 slug and GP40-2 power unit bring a car around the line on a fall morning in 2015.
