First Appearance - Batman #318 (December 1979)
Joe Rigger was a soldier and demolitions expert who returned to Gotham City when his family had been killed in three separate building-related accidents. His sanity slipping, Rigger vowed that those buildings would not kill again. Using his military training and a costume containing tanks of napalm, he became the Firebug and set out to burn all three buildings to the ground. He was defeated by the Batman atop the towering Gotham State Building, and believed dead after his tank exploded. Firebug reappeared some time later, taking on a mission from the Calculator to invade Hero Hotline's HQ, but was disarmed and defeated by the Hotline members. Still later, Firebug escaped Blackgate Prison and applied for membership in Black Mask's gang, but was beaten by his rival arsonist, Firefly.
Der Kneipp-Kurort Buckow liegt etwa 50 km nordöstlich von Berlin und ist das Zentrum des Naturparks Märkische Schweiz, einer durch die letzte Eiszeit geformten hügeligen, wald- und seenreichen Landschaft. This name meaning "Margravian Switzerland" dates back to the era of romanticism and was a tribute to the beauty of this landscape formed by the Ice Age with steep wooded hills rising among numerous lakes. Buckow is located between three lakes and is crossed by a small river named Stöbber (also known as Stobber).

Se alimenta de diversas plantas en especial leñonas con frecuencia avellanos, tambien de insectos muertos. En caso de amenaza , libera una secreción de olor fuerte . No son buenos voladores , su vuelo lento hace ruidos o zumbidos fuertes. Es de actividad diurna. Como con la mayorÃa Pentatomidae , produce una sola generación por año
Esta especie se multiplica con una gran cantidad de huevos cuando se les altera en su hábitat. Estas acciones hacen que produzcan una secreción venenosa de color blanquecino . Los productos quÃmicos con la secreción que emiten, permitira que los huevos puedan fertilizar en cualquier tipo entorno por agresivo que sea

Viewed in lightbox and on full screen, you should be able too see quite a few of these 'redcoats' or firebugs (Pyrrhocoris apterus) in the shadows, under the crumpled leaves.
