These old work horses are brought out if the modern fire service goes on strike. There was one at the school fete today. This is the back of it - I'm not sure but I would guess it's where they fill it up with water.
I was stopped heading north on 116 St. at 103 Ave., waiting to make a left turn. The green car was coming south toward me, and started to make a left turn going east on 103. A flash of red beside me, and WHAM! Suddenly I was a witness to an accident. (Luckily not involved.) So I pulled off the north/south street and went to check things out. There were no injuries, but the red car was pretty well totalled, I think. The air bags deployed, the rad was busted (hence the fire department response to clean up), and the frame likely was twisted. The green car sustained little damage but that driver was definitely at fault. Police were late coming so I stopped at our west end station to write up my witness report on the way home.
Darkened most of the image a bit in PSCS4, but not the fire engine.
