Memorial Day Sunday at the Omaha National Cemetery. After hearing plans to not place flags on graves and at the Ossuary, a team of volunteers came out and made sure every veteran's final resting place was honored with an American flag on each final resting place. Then the rains came.

I love to hunt behind a good pointing dog and watch them use their noses to find grouse. I do this primarily in October in the beautiful fall forests of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
The Ryman breed of English Setters are characterized as "old men's hunting dogs" and at 77 I qualify. I don't shoot very well anymore, but I don't know if I want to kill anything anyway. In the last three years I have bagged zero birds. The dog points them. I shoot and miss and we move on.
When we get home I don't have to clean anything and I am happy with that.
In the image my dog Bonnie is pointing a grouse as the sun drops in the west. I missed it!

It's good to know we live in a world where there is a yellow snail with a baby-pink rim. I do not know where in the world it lives, because I bought it at a shell store. I did find the sea glass, however (in California).
Find an isolated corner on Ding Bay, under the overhanging coastal trees, in one of the caves or amongst the fascinating pancake rocks, or just lie on the pristine fine sand in the sunshine and you may just discover you have the whole place to yourselves. Orca might also come in close for a look, but really, is there any more desirable beach in the world?

Counterbalanced rocks in my garden today ...
Spring is well under way so I decided to not put off preparing my vegetable plot any longer, though I did get a little sidetracked sometimes :-)
