A photo walk in Lyon, France, with my French range-finder 35 mm camera Foca PF2B (year 1956) and a Washi film type "Z", a super-panchromatic film with an extended sensitivity to the near infra-red at 750 nm.
The 24-exopsure Washi film type "Z", was exposed for 400 ISO. The film was packaged in France from a stock for aerospace appliances. The film is a a super-panchromatic film sensitized up to 750nm in the red (near infra-red) and coated on PET polyester base and with a water-soluble black-blue anti halation printed on back. Due to optical properties of PET base, -the light maybe conducted ("piped") from the film leader to the film edges (especially around the perforations). This phenomenon is observed on the sides of the 5 first views but does not affect the view areas.
The film was exposed for 400 ISO using a Minolta Autometer III with a 10° finder for selective measurements privileging the shadow areas. The Foca Oplar lens1/2.8 f=5cm was fitted with a FOCA AUV filter and a Genaco metal shade hood.
Quai Bellevue, January 9, 2023
69300 Caluire-et-Cuire
France
After exposure, the film was processed using Adox Adonal (Agfa Rodinal) developer at dilution 1+25, 20°C for 7 min.
The film was then digitalized using a Sony A7 body adapted to a Minolta Auto Bellows III and a Minolta Slide Duplicator using a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5 at a reproduction ratio of 1:1. The reproduced RAW files obtained were processed in LR prior the the final JPEG editions.
All views of the film are presented in the dedicated album either in the printed framed versions and unframed full-size jpeg.
About the camera and the lens:
The Foca type PF2B (PF for "Petit Format") was constructed in France by the company "Optique & Precision de Levallois" (OPL) starting from 1947. It was manufactured in the Chateaudun OPL factory, route de Jallans, France, in 1956 among a late series of the PF2B. The factory, constructed in 1938, is still at the same place under the name of SAFRAN now producing precision devices for aerospace appliances.
The camera is equipped with the collapsible OPLAR lens (a Tessar formula) 1:2.8 f=5cm. The focal shutter of the PF2B has timing of 1/1000, 1/500, 1/200, 1/100, 1/50 and 1/25s plus the B pose. A slow exposure device below 1/25s could be installed by the aftermarket service and was installed in series for the FOCA PF3 type.

I've had the Strike Finder Elite for a few years now but this is the first time it's managed to catch any lightning.
Day 138, May 18, 2011's photo of the day
The Mac OS X Finder reports an error - stating it can't be opened. And, as you can see from the Finder Dock icon, it isn't running. But then, the error message is generated by Finder, so it was running enough to tell me that it isn't running.
While it is rare, Macs do have issues, and lately they seem to be infecting both my primary computers. No clues in the Console [log files] and in fact no clues anywhere; sometimes my iMac will simply reboot right in the middle of typing in an app [Firefox, iTerm, Safari, Numbers, Mail, etc]. Ghost in the machine. I blame a bad hard drive that won't go bad enough to be replaced. My iMac currently has 1.4 trillion page faults. That can't be good. But this error happened on my Mac mini that I use for my book business. It does need a memory upgrade, so having iCal and Vienna open at the same time that Numbers, TextMate, Mail and Safari are open is just asking for a super slow system. But in general the system will work well if you only keep a handful of apps running [if one keeps Safari closed, you can run every app on the Dock without issue - Safari hogs 3/4 of the Mac mini's memory whenever it runs!].
A sad, but kinda funny, photo of the day.
As seen on www.vjl365.com.

solar sun calculator position finder thing i made for photography.
Dates based on 15th of each month 2009 taking into account clocks changing.
Location based on Leicester 52 degrees north England UK Northern hemisphere.
You align North with North on a compass.
I thought it would be handy for people anyway.
Its maybe a bit rough and might well have mistakes but it gives an idea
I can post a simple one if anyone wants it with just the clock for northern hemisphere.
You get the sunset and sunrise times for your exact longitude and latitiude and local time zone off an internet search for sun finder sun chart sun position calculator etc and you'll have to draw them in if you want to.
Print it out and off you go.
The Stinger for Scarlet and Epic Cameras is a fully balanced shoulder mounted rig perfect for those long shooting days. The rig features our Studio Baseplate for Scarlet and Epic Cameras. This baseplate features our Rod Riser with 4.5” rods. The Rod Riser provides the correct rod height when using a matte box or follow focus with the Scarlet and Epic. Rods also run out of the back of the plate to hold the shoulder pad and counterbalance weights or batteries mounted on our Zwiss Plate for counter weight. On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15mm lightweight holes. The side rod ports holes take 15mm female rods that are locked via an Allen screw. This gives users virtually unlimited mounting options such as mounting a Zwiss Plate with professional batteries off of the side when shooting on a tripod for better balance, creating a cage configuration, or mounting Zacuto articulating arms, an EVF Mount, rods and more. The baseplate has standard ¼” 20 and 3/8” 16 holes on the bottom for mounting the rig onto a tripod. The Stinger includes our Shoulder Pad with 7” rods and a Z-Lite 7lb counterbalance weight for a fully balanced in-line rig. The more balanced and less front heavy the rig, the longer you can hold it without arm fatigue. You can slide the counterbalance weight forward and backward on the rods for custom comfort. This rig can be used on your left or right shoulder. With the shoulder pad and counterbalance weight coming directly off of the back of the baseplate, the rig is perfectly in-line and ready to be used with one of our EVFsfor traditional ENG style shooting. You can mount your EVF to the side of the rig using our EVF Standard Mount Kit. This rig is compatible with any 15mm lightweight standard accessories. The Z-Focus would be a great add on accessory if you are looking for a follow focus.
Stinger for Scarlet and Epic Cameras Includes:
Studio Baseplate for Scarlet and Epic Cameras, Zgrips, V3Shoulder Pad with 7" Rods, 8" Rod Set, Z-Lite DoubleRED, RED ONE, Epic-M and Scarlet-X trademarks owned by RED Digital Cinema.

The Striker is light and easy to handle. It has three points of contact by having one hand on the handgrip, the gunstock in your chest and your focusing hand on the lens. You can add a recommended fourth point of contact with one of our Z-Finders or with an EVF via an EVF Gorilla Plate Bracket.
The Zacuto Gorilla Plate V2 attaches to the bottom of your camera using the standard tripod screw hole. The Gorilla Plate V2 has a 15mm rod port on the underside which allows you to attach the main rod for the Striker rig. The rig can be freed from the Gorilla Plate V2 by flipping the red ratcheting lever. A tripod plate can be installed under the Gorilla Plate V2 for quickly moving from handheld to tripod. The handgrip, gunstock, and camera mount can all be adjusted independently and move along the horizontal rod independently. It is infinitely adjustable and can be built upon to create some of our larger kits like the Cross Fire.
The Striker cannot accommodate a follow focus or matte box as it does not have a full baseplate with rails. If you’re looking for a kit with these accessories, we recommend checking out our Cinema DSLR Kits that have a shoulder pad and counterbalance weight to properly balance the rig.

The finder is a Kiev knockoff of a Hasselblad WLF I got on ebay for like $15 (I see they're a bit more expensive these days?).
This is a complete EVF! The optical viewfinder contains high quality 2.5x optics with anti-fog shields. It does not have a diopter, but will include the Zacuto Z-Finder Extender Frames which will get the focus close but may not be exact. With the Z-Finder EVF, you cannot dial it in with a diopter like you can with our Z-Finder Pro models.
Here is the finished "finder/guider.As you see the only "damage" I made to the finder scope wasthat I drilled 4 small holes to hold the "inner adapter and the guider"
That rubber eyecup will also fit the accessory Zeiss wide -angle viewfinders...
