Der Inn ist heute über weite Strecken begradigt und verbaut, die Fließstrecke ist durch zahlreiche Kraftwerke beeinträchtigt, eine längere freie Fließstrecke von 150 km besteht noch zwischen Fließ und Kirchbichl. Vereinzelt finden sich noch naturnähere Abschnitte und Reste der ursprünglichen Auwälder, die oft als Natur- oder Landschaftsschutzgebiet ausgewiesen sind.

I felt the need for a little high key so here is one I took a couple of months ago with the Helios.
The daisies are from my wildflower patch, placed in a vase by my lounge window.

In Paralimni you can find the largest church square in Cyprus with three churches in the center of the Town.
Two of the churches are dedicated to St. George and the other one to St. Anna which is the oldest one of the three.

Switcher Sunday finds a pair of P&S SW-9's moving westbound coal loads southward along the Allegheny River (out of the photo but following to the right) on a gorgeous fall day. The friendly crew is enjoying the trip and nice weather, as they move the very cool hopper train made up of mostly 2-bay shorties. Might as well as I'm sure they are well aware of the "fun of railroading" coming up soon in the winter months around this area.
After crossing the Allegheny River near Nubbs (Mosgrove), the railroad follows it's west bank for about 25 miles to Freeport, and the Conrail connection located there. Wisely for the railroad but not so fun for the railfan photographer, the track was always a good bit away from the riverbank, thereby avoiding issues that other operations have being right on the riverbanks.

Where it all started, or where you can find out how it started.
There are stories that should not be forgotten... Well, perhaps we should never forget. From memories, from the past and from our history we learn. Today I begin to record the result of my investigations. A task that has taken me a year, a long year of wandering between the shelves of the Carnelian Archive, where all the Fairlands chronicles are kept. The dust, the smell of leather, paper and history have been my faithful companions in this search, which is now over. It was something personal, yes. It has already been lost in time and in the silence of my relatives over the years, but I needed to know the truth. And the truth, like a polished diamond with countless faces, is not as simple as they imagined. There is no good or bad, but a mixture of the two whose balance maintains the Universe. Anyway, this is not the time to ramble. I think I should pick up the scattered fragments, hinted at in these flickr posts, and tell the whole story, though maybe not the whole truth, who knows....

She insists she is not a real fortune teller. She's a fake! There is a lot of irony in that statement. I liked her honesty and her sense of humor. I ran into her down on Union Street today where they had the annual Easter Sunday street faire and parade. She's an entertainer and she charmed me into taking her photo.
On her website she claims to be Auntie Mame, Dame Edna and Nostrodamus rolled into one. She reminded more of my Aunt Peggy!
