November 9-12, 2013 -- The Third Plenum of the new leaders of China starts Saturday. This plenum will consider a government think tank strategy, known as the "383 plan" , to transform China’s economy by 2020. The plan aims at lowering market barriers to attract foreign investors, boost competition and productivity, introduce social security to help poor and middle classes and allow collectively-owned land to be traded. Graphic shows seven members of the Politburo Standing Committee, allegencies and main policy goals of the third plenary session of China’s Central Committee.

My 800th entry. This is one of a series of shots based on the concept of Bank Bonuses. This is a contentious issue! Govenments around the world stepped in to avoid the collapse of the financial markets especially the Banking Sector. TAX PAYERS MONEY bailed out many banks but it doesn't seem as though lessons have been learnt. Well, it has been said that the LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil; which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Shot on the Nikon D200 using the Elinchom Ranger Quadra.

October 2, 2013 -- With no immediate progress in resolving the federal closure, the budget standoff might not be resolved in time to increase the debt ceiling by October 17, when failure to increase the $16.7 trillion statutory borrowing limit could cause the U.S. to default on its debt. The world is sure smiling on us,

And everything's ours, that's good;

But with a slump in trade,

Our smiles would fade;

So, I'll whistle a while, and

KNOCK WOOD.
