Wow...day 300! Crazy! Only 65 more days to go! This photo is a keyboard I bought last year on a whim. It's a keyboard designed for the video editing program Final Cut Pro. I've used it a handful of times and I plan on using it a lot within the next coming year. In case you didn't know...I'm building an empire with my brain and bare hands.
yes, i'm aware this is not a photograph.....but it is basically what i spent my entire day working on and it is finally done! coming very very very soon.
Jay Ignaszewski of AJA and Don Peebles of Apple at the joint BOSFCPUG & BAVUG meeting at RULE Boston Camera on June 10, 2009.
This was my first night out with my new Canon 5D MarkII.
I didn't get to "understand" how manual control works on video, since there are only workarounds, but i did pretty decent using it in Auto.
PS.No Color Grading was done. Just rough cut and export.

I created an animation of 1000 frames which turns around a close-up of my artist model. The model is made of a head from one character atop the body of another. An unavoidable seam forms between the two. I'm currently in the process of blurring the seams in all 1000 frames, which is tedious. Dreams become movements into someone’s mind.. Using a small apartment as location for some minimal dancing moves, Mi Consuelo it’s a ride through Experimental VideoArt.
Improvisation and HiDef compositings in a magical “homemade” atmosphere.
Really excited to be finally, after 4 months, importing and logging the first few hours of footage from Pedal :)

Chris Fournell talked about how this Final Cut Pro project with file-based 24p acquisition, tape-based 30i stock footage, and FCP based graphics was finished at OutPost in an Avid online suite on a short turnaround.
The whole day was spent
Trying to wrestle some old
Film into new spots.
Which, I can tell you, is sometimes a bit futile. But when you're rebuilding your reel, I guess it's par for the course. Spent a lot of time today trying squeeze an old music video into a commercial spot (the next word that appears above is "priceless"), before finally realizing that this campaign is SO old and done that no matter how well I cut it, I can't possibly prevent the spec from being kind of cheesy. Especially without the real guy doing the voice-over.
So, I'll have to figure something else out... But I've only got one or two more days, and I'll have to shift to the script. I'm thinking of applying for the iTVS Diversity Fund with the Openers, but I may have to extend office week for an ADDITIONAL week to get that done.
First thing's first: the reel. Hopefully I'll stumble onto something tomorrow!
