The Big Southern Butte looms in the background of this section of the Crater Loop, with our vehicle in the foreground. It had already gotten filthy.

Sometimes you can find art in strange places. Every once in a while you find a real treasure. I work in a scrap yard and because it's such a filthy dreary place you wouldn't think there would be any art in it. However, one day we got a load of scrap metal in from one of the big three car makers that included some carts and tables used to hold objects in their paint booths. Over the years these carts collected layer upon layer of paint. My job is to cut up the scrap with a huge shear. When I cut these carts large chunks of paint broke off. It was so pretty I collected several chunks to bring home for this project I call "Paint Booth Geology".

Still organizing my office... the whole process makes Olivia tired.

This is the dreaded filthy poop alley where our dogs apparently stink up the neighborhood.

The fence does not give much additional privacy, but we could cover the area and even double up on this spot for about $100, I think.

Then we would probably make a plant bed in front of it with clumping bamboo to match the back plus other pretty green things.

I can't decide if it works.

A little dirt and varnish give this skull and his surroundings a dirty, old look. By the way, he is no bigger than a quarter, it's macro photography.
