After my visit to her shrine in Cardinale di Mugnano, Naples, Italy, I thought of honoring this noble teenage martyr, who is probably the only saint canonized by the Church on the basis of visions given by her to her devotees. No historical document of her life and martyrdom exists.

Saint Philomena . Image of saint Filomean venerated in the church of saint Pius the x in the city of Guadalajara Jalisco .this is suposed to be one of the few unedited pictures of her holy immage that appeared in the booklet of the life of saint that was approved by the archdiosis in Guadalajara jalisco Mexico . When the church of saint Pius the x was built in between colon and Milano streets in Guadalajara . The Bishop saw the need to place an image of saint Filomena in the church due to the fact that saint Pius the x was verey devout to her . An artist was commisioned to scult her holy image . At once a novena started in her honor so that a first class relic of her holy body was obtained and a pius lady appeared in the church with souch a precious relic . the relic is behind saint filomenas statue in the urn .According to her story she was the doughter of the emperors of greace . For years they tried to have children but couldnt . Until they converted to christianity . They soon had a child that they named PHI LO MENA . wich means doughter of the light of god . she grew in stature and vertue . Until her parents went to Rome to sighn a peace treaty with emperor dioclitain an evil man . Whom seeing the beouty of the blessed child fell in love with her . He asked to be merried but saint Philomena had promised herself to god .He had her tortured first she was wiped and bought back to the coloseum , then they threw an arow at her , then she was thrown into the river tiber every time an angel would come and heal her . At last the mother of God appeared to her and told her that soon her suffering would end .The emperor infuriated had her dicapitated and saint Philomenas soul was thrown into heaven . Her relics were discuvered in the catacombs of saint Prisila in 1802 . Meany Miracles happened and most of her mortal remains were transported to Mugnano Naples italy . Verey devout to her were the cure d ars saint Jhone Mary Vianney and Pauline Jerico . Blessed be God in his angels and saints and the blessed vergin Mary forever .
The low pressure center arrives to Barcelona. This storm has been hitting Spain during this week, letting a very snowy landscape all over the country (although in Barcelona did not snow...). Now it arrives from the south to Barcelona and its winds are very powerful.

Concludo, ma avrei ancora foto, la storia di Filomena o Finimola come voleva chiamarla il padre dopo dieci figlie e nessuna maschio. Sono vecchie fotografie che non hanno la pretesa della perfezione attuale. Ma torniamo ai fatti. La donna nacque in un paesino d'Abruzo, un paese da capre e credo che si chiamasse Capriglia o qualcosa di simile e mai si allontanò da lì. Eccola ormai vecchia nella sua casa, tra le botti del vino e qualche stoviglia. In alto, su tavole sospese per difenderli dai topi, del formaggio e pezzi di carne di maiale sotto sale.

The name Philomena (fee-lo-MAY-nah) is of Latin origin. The inscription on the original loculus tiles, is Filumena. The word filia is Latin for daughter. The word, lumena, is Latin for, light, lamp, lantern; light of day; the eye; clearness; understanding.
Thus the origin of the title "Daughter of Light."

Aunque la famosa borrasca del mes de enero de 2021 no afectó al sur de España como lo hizo al centro, y menos mal, sí que nos dejó la mañana del domingo 10 de enero una bonita postal de nieve en la ciudad de Granada. La justa para hacer las fotos y que se vea bonito pero sin necesidad de bajar esquiando la cuesta Alhacaba. En la foto, dos parejas de 102 y 114 algo congeladas y la ciudad de Granada con una fina capa de nieve.
