I have an ongoing film swap project with a few people around the world. We each shoot a roll or two of film and mail it to the other person to shoot whatever they wish. It's been a lot of fun.
Here Martin Klöckner (IG @mkfoto.ch) exposed a roll of film with Teddy (IG @_teddy_321_) in Switzerland then mailed it to me. I took the film for a walk along east Toronto's "Secret Beach".
Even though we were both using Hasselblahs, the frame registration was no especially good but that is to be expected.
A double exposure on lomography colour 400 35mm film. The first exposure was on the backside of the film in a Kodak box brownie flash 2 then second exposure on the correct side of the film loaded into a Olympus om10.
1st image from 3-way "trifecta" filmswap project, across 3 continents. This is 2nd roll (2 of 3). One photographer from me (Japan), one from Fotobes (UK) and one from Graziella Ines (USA).
Firstly I shot the upper half, with a church and cherry blossom in Gifu, Japan - masking the lower with a "splitzer". Then Fotobes shot the lower half in Brighton Beach, UK - masking the upper half with a "splitzer". Finally Grazie exposed on full-frame in Joshua Tree National Park, California. I love how the 3 images combine to create a blend of seasons and continents - that's the magic of analogue! :)

From a film swap with the amazing Gaz Q where I shot a whole roll of sunsets then passed everything over for him to work his magic.
a year ago, i started working on a 3-way "trifecta" film-swap, across 3 continents alongside two top analogue photographers: hodachrome from japan and graziella ines from the u.s...
since then, we have been sending 3 rolls of film around the globe, each shooting a layer on every frame.. the second of these rolls has now been finished, developed and processed..
for this image, hodaka shot the upper half of the frame only (cherry blossoms in hana festa memomrial park, gifu, back in april - masking the lower with a "splitzer"), i shot the lower half of the frame only (my son felix, on brighton beach last summer - masking the upper half with a "splitzer") and finally graziella shot the full frame (recent snow in joshua tree national park).. i love how the 3 images combine to create a blend of seasons and continents - that's the magic of analogue!

in january 2014, i started working on a 3-way "trifecta" film-swap, across 3 continents alongside two of my favourite analogue photographers: graziella ines from the u.s. and hodachrome from japan.. since then, we have been sending 3 rolls of film around the globe, each shooting a layer on every frame.. the third and final of these rolls has now been finished, developed and processed.. this roll of film has travelled over 11,000 miles in total!
for this image, graziella shot the upper half of the frame only, masking the lower with a "splitzer" (vegas lights), hodaka shot the lower half of the frame only, masking the upper half with a "splitzer" (a small sunflower field in ena city, gifu), and finally i shot the full frame (one of the light tunnels near the imax cinema in waterloo, london)..

film swap with holly (back in september...i was looking through these photos today and realized i hadn't shared all of them!)
i can only assume that holly forgot to take her lenscap off for this one because i see no hint of double exposure :P
Another film swap project made by me and Hồng Nhung from Hanoi, Vietnam. Photos were exposed both in Hanoi by Nhung and in Nha Trang by me.

2nd image from 3-way "trifecta" filmswap project, across 3 continents. One photographer from me (Japan), one from Fotobes (UK) and one from Graziella Ines (USA).
For this roll we each shot entirely at random (1 of 3rolls). Firstly Fotobes shot something in UK (not seen obviously though). Then Grazie shot the wall with urban art in Venice beach, California. Finally I shot an old tunnel near Maruyama Dam, Gifu. Nice atmosphere with unexpected lightleaks :)

Another image from my film-soup film-swap with the wonderful hodachrome.. This roll started off in Japan, where he shot the red coloured 'torii' (the gateway to Shinto shrines) of Sanko-Inari Shrine at the foot of Inuyama Castle, Aichi, then on arrival in the UK, I double exposed some poppies in a field just outside of Brighton..
On completing the roll, I mixed together some boiled water with silica gel and washing detergent, and left it to cool a little. Then I went into my make-shift darkroom and pulled out the film from the canister. Next I flicked and dabbed the "soup" onto the exposed film. I waited for a few minutes and then rewound the film into the canister. Afterwards I went to the kitchen and dropped the film into just-boiled water, and after 5 minutes I transferred it into cold water for a minute. Then back in the darkroom I pulled the film out from the canister again and dried it with a hairdryer, and when done I rewound the film. The film was then developed at Asda, and scanned at The Vault in Brighton (the Lomography lab in London refused to process it).

Dear all,
I've been wanting to do a film swap for ages now but haven't gotten around to it yet. I think now is as good a time as ever to finally start - but of course I need people who are willing to collaborate on this.
It doesn't matter what camera you use or for how long you have been shooting film. It also doesn't matter to me where you are from; I'm up to national as well as international collaborations.
So, I would be happy to hear from you. If you're interested, just drop me a line in the comments or via Flickrmail, and then we can discuss the specifics.
Hope to see you soon! :)
P.S.: In case you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about or you're not sure how a film swap works, there is a fine and short introduction (and a video instruction) HERE.
From my 43rd Filmswap. This time with Roberta. Kodak ED200, cross processed. I shot with an Olympus XA4, can't recall which camera Roberta used. Lisbon Vs Brighton.
For my second international film swap project, I was delighted to be able to work with the wonderful Catfordst32 from Japan - you should check out her superb photostream! She shot an illustration on the wall of a connecting passageway in the Lucent Tower office building in Nagoya, and I shot the Boadicea statue (double exposure with splitzer), near Westminster Bridge in London.

Film swap with London based photographer Simon Bohrsmann, taken while he was in Australia and then swapped with me in York, UK.
Film: Kodak Professional Portra 400
Taken from a double exposed roll shot on an LC-A+. I snapped the flowers in Cambridge then added a second layer at Westminster Tube during a Lomo walk in London.
Kodak Elitechrome 100
Shot first time round at 200 ISO then the second at 100 ISO.
From the new filmswap project with fotobes. First I shot only "roses" for an entire roll at Hana Festa Memomrial Park in Gifu, the largest rose garden in Japan. After I gave it to him and he started shooting 2nd layers in UK. His shot is a foot tunnel that leads under the Kings Road in Brighton out onto the beach. Came out nice!
