35mm nikon film swap with myself no post production just dust removed

from the start of this year, i have been planning a 3-way "trifecta" film-swap, across 3 continents with two top analogue photographers: hodachrome from japan and graziella ines from the u.s...

since then, we have been sending 3 rolls of film around the globe, and this is my third upload (more in comments below) from this very well-travelled roll of film.. hodaka shot a new tunnel near maruyama dam, gifu, and graziella's layer was shot on venice beach, and i shot some little yellow flowers on a hill in the south downs, near brighton.. i'm really happy with how clear and complementary the three layers are with this image..

Whilst hodachrome was visiting the UK last month, he gave me a roll of film with which he had taken a layer of roses on each frame, shot at Hana Festa Memomrial Park, Gifu (the largest rose garden in Japan). My layer was taken in a foot tunnel leading under the Kings Road in Brighton from Brunswick Square, out onto the beach.

From filmswap project with my favorite photographer Catfordst32. Reddish tones are by unique negative film "Tokyo gratzy RAINBOW 7" which has already finished produce and is expired. My shot is in Jakkouin Temple, Aichi. Her shot is in her room (with herself).

1st image from 3-way "trifecta" filmswap project, across 3 continents. One photographer from me (Japan), one from Fotobes (UK) and one from Graziella Ines (USA).

For this roll we each shot entirely at random (1 of 3rolls). Firstly Fotobes shot sunset scene at Brighton Beach, UK. Then Grazie shot at Zion National Park, Utah. Finally I shot Koushouji Temple in Nagoya,Japan. Each image is visible so clearly and nicely blended :)

A fourth image from the return EBS (expose both sides) project, with hodachrome. This film swap took the following process: I shot a roll of film on the "normal" side, rewound (leaving the end of the film still poking out of the magazine) and posted this to Hodaka in Japan, who then reversed and rewound the film, and shot the roll again so that the second exposure was shot on the "wrong" side. When shooting on the reverse side, the image is "red scaled" - all colours become shades of red, so the images are a combination of true and red scaled colours. With this one took a shot near Shoreham Harbour at dusk, around the "Hot Pipes" surf spot, with the camera leaning on the roof of my car to give off reflections, then hodachrome shot at Lake Shizenko in Nagano, which is noted for its eccentric scenery with withered and skeletal trees.. I like how the skeletal trees and reddish colour intersperse the rest of the image, with weird reflections.

Another film swap project made by me and Xia Ba Chao from Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. He shot the whole roll of films in Ho Chi Minh then rewound the films and sent it to me. I carried the roll to other places such as Nha Trang, Đà Lạt, Singapore and Malacca and shot on the sencond layer on them.

I sometimes think that people’s hearts are like deep wells. Nobody knows what’s at the bottom.

All you can do is imagine by what comes floating to the surface every once in a while.

2nd image from the "Film-soup-swap Project" with my favorite photographer fotobes in UK.

He shot at Millennium Bridge which is the foot bridge between London's South Bank and leads up to St Paul's Cathedral. I shot Matsumoto Castle in Nagano, one of four castles designated as 'National Treasures of Japan' and the oldest castle donjon remaining in Japan.

About the 1st roll, fotobes ”cooked” the film after we finished each shootings. He mixed together some boiled water with silica gel and washing detergent, and left it to cool a little. Then he went into his make-shift darkroom and pulled out the film from the canister. He then flicked and dabbed the "soup" onto the exposed film. He waited for a few minutes and then rewound the film into the canister, and next he dropped the film into just-boiled water, and after 5 minutes I transferred it into cold water for a minute. Then back in the darkroom he pulled the film out from the canister again and dried it with a hairdryer and when done he rewound the film. The film was then developed at Asda, and scanned at The Vault in Brighton (the Lomography lab in London refused to process it).

This is the 4th image from the international "EBS" filmswap with a great photographer fotobes from UK.

"Exposing Both Sides of the Film (EBS)" is one of the most unique lomography's technique. First, Toby shot on normal/correct side of negative film, at Brighton seafront at dusk. After reversed the film, I shot on reversed/redscale side, at Chuo Freeway at night, near my home in Gifu. I really like this fantastic result :)

I have an ongoing film swap project with a few people around the world. We each shoot a roll or two of film and mail it to the other person to shoot whatever they wish. It's been a lot of fun.

Here Martin Klöckner (IG @mkfoto.ch) exposed a roll of film with Teddy (IG @_teddy_321_) in Switzerland then mailed it to me. I took the film for a walk along east Toronto's "Secret Beach".

Even though we were both using Hasselblahs, the frame registration was no especially good but that is to be expected.

A double exposure on lomography colour 400 35mm film. The first exposure was on the backside of the film in a Kodak box brownie flash 2 then second exposure on the correct side of the film loaded into a Olympus om10.

1st image from 3-way "trifecta" filmswap project, across 3 continents. This is 2nd roll (2 of 3). One photographer from me (Japan), one from Fotobes (UK) and one from Graziella Ines (USA).

Firstly I shot the upper half, with a church and cherry blossom in Gifu, Japan - masking the lower with a "splitzer". Then Fotobes shot the lower half in Brighton Beach, UK - masking the upper half with a "splitzer". Finally Grazie exposed on full-frame in Joshua Tree National Park, California. I love how the 3 images combine to create a blend of seasons and continents - that's the magic of analogue! :)
