I want to get to grips with layering for an idea I have so here is a little experiment for this evening. Trying to suss out how to get the glass on top of the cat so it appears in the bulb. Any tips much appreciated!

Mais nous perdrions surement ces jolis filaments, qui mettent au firmament tout ce que nous avons d'inconséquent.
La nature est assez suprenante dans ses textures et ses ressemblances. Les filaments de cette asclépiade ressemblent à une mèche de cheveux.
Nature is quite surprising range in its textures and similarities. The filaments of the milkweed looks like a lock of hair.

Looking up at a light fixture outside my house a very close up macro of the inside of a light bulb in the fixture. The cloudy stuff is the dirt on the bulb and how the light interacts with it.

There it was... parachute like with long purple filaments dotted with tiny drops of water. And the flower is one foot across!
And here I was, with my camera around my neck, groping around in the steamy hot Rare Plant House searching for a metal tag to identify this amazing flower extravaganza! And, it was Dog Day so I had my pup Honey watching me, tipping her head to the right and the left curious.
The flowers are black to purplish white, nodding on long pedicels, 2 bracts broadly ovate and winglike, 2 smaller bracts perpendicular to the others, black, greenish or reddish. Bracteoles threadlike, 6 - 8 inches long. Leaves basal, lanceolate, glossy dark green blade tapering down the petiole.
The genus Tacca, which includes the Bat flowers and Arrowroot, consists of ten species of flowering plants in the order Dioscoreales, native to tropical regions of Africa, Australia, and south-eastern Asia. In older texts, the genus was treated in its own family Taccaceae, but the 2003 APG II system incorporates it into the family Dioscoreaceae. Taccaceae is native to Malaysia.

Taken with Olympus OM-1 using Zuiko 50mm f/1.4 lens and 20mm extension tubes on Fuji Superia 400 then developed in Tetanal C41 Two Bath Kit.
A chicken down feather found on my breakfast egg. Edge lit with a combination of ideas picked up from Strobist. 31mm of extension tubes behind a 22mm prime for 1.6:1 magnification.
Calliandra surinamensis is a low branching evergreen tropical shrub that's named after Suriname, a country in Northern South America. The plant usually has complexly branched multiple trunks and grows to a height of about 5 meters, although many sources suggest that it only attains a height of 3 meters. Left unpruned it grows long thin branches that eventually droop down onto the ground.

A dark, solar filament above the Sun's surface became unstable and erupted, which generated a cascade of magnetic arches (Dec. 16-17, 2015). A small eruption to the upper right likely caused the filament's collapse. The action, observed in extreme ultraviolet light, covered about a 28-hour period. The Sun sported a very long filament (over 30 times the size of Earth) that angled diagonally across its surface for over a week (July 31 - Aug. 6, 2014). Filaments are clouds of cooler gas suspended above the Sun's surface by magnetic forces. They are notoriously unstable and often break apart in just hours or days. So far, this one has held together as it rotated along with the Sun for over a week.
