It came with the house. Don't know if it grew this way naturally or (more likely) whether it was a result of bad pruning.

I love the fig leaves growing in the spring they have an excellent shape and start off so tiny getting bigger and bigger

The figs are already starting to form. Fig trees are really cool trees. They are almost bush like but are trees. The have many sprawling branches and huge leaves. This is in my backyard.

Could not resist this shot on the Minard Estate in Browns Town St. Ann

Some species of Oxyopidae in the backyard, on the fig tree. I guess they don't just eat ants.

 

The bug is some kind of little fly or gnat that are very common in our yard.

There are brown and green ones. The green ones are sweeter. Did you ever had a fresh fig picked straight from the tree? You will love it - I did!

This is how you can tell when the figs are ripening: they redden and eventually darken to purple.
