I liked the way the fig tree looked this morning. Although I would like it better if it was actually in the ground and not still in its container.

Our back yard is looking pretty lush right now. We're going to get lots of figs off the tree this year if the opportunistic critters don't eat them first.
Yes the sun did come out fleetingly & the light caught in the raindrops & highlighting the bare branches of the Fig Tree caught my eye. Look very closely you can see the extremely fine lines of a new spider's web under construction!.
Rainbow lorikeets eating figs just outside the kitchen window. These were taken on Friday, the day before the hottest day in Melbourne's history. Even though it's a pretty hefty tree it was looking very, very sad. The lorikeets came back this morning when the tree had perked up a bit. No point calling them fair-weather friends - anything out in the sun yesterday would have been baked.

I completely forgot to tell our cat sitter to water our garden while we were on vacation. So quite a few things did not do so well. The fig tree did ok (it has lost it's leaves, but it's already budding some new ones) and the figs are starting to ripen nicely. There are 37 total figs on the little tree and it's definitely bending under the burden....I just have to decide what to do with all of them...Eating out of hand is the first option, my second thought is some sort fig jam or something similar. Mmmmmm fig jam.
