Decaying Naturally.

To me, reflections are from parallel world. I am mesmerized by interplay of lights and colors of New York glass windows. This one is the view trough the glass to some office.

The fifth train of this busy morning was CSXT local L012 from West Springfield seen clattering over the NECR diamond at and taking the controlled siding at CP83 on CSXT's Boston Sub behind a pair of GP40-2s headed down to work the east end of Palmer Yard. Meanwhile NECR local 603 is shoving around the connection track beside them into west end of the yard with a large cut of interchange for the CSXT.

Standing guard at the junction as it has for 141 years is the 1883 built H.H. Richardson designed Union Station now home to the fabulous Steaming Tender restaurant. In the parking lot is 0-6-0 number 102 built by H.K. Porter in 1915 for Southern Sand and Gravel of Massaponax, VA.

So this is what I had in mind when I bought the 300mm, working the compression down the city's long avenues. This is shot looking south on Fifth from 60th Street. It was really busy out and about yesterday.

According to Google, Museum Mile runs along Fifth Avenue from East 79th Street to East 106th. Neither arithmetic nor the number of museums uptown and downtown places the Guggenheim in the center of that mile but that title just feels right.

Enhorabuena Carlos!

Twilight bathes the skies over Madison Square in New York City. Along Fifth Avenue sits a beautiful old street clock. Not only is it a great feature, but it's great fodder for the camera. Behind the old clock sits the iconic Flatiron Building. A great backdrop for this beautiful clock.

One of the rare photos of the fifth Beatle. Even though he is said to have written most of the songs, he always had to walk 10 steps behind the mop tops.
