via Perhaps your children have begged you for a fidget spinner. Elementary and middle schoolers are mad for them, and teachers are having to decide whether to allow or ban them from classrooms. www.npr.org/2017/05/06/527140009/fidget-spinners-good-or-...
Production photos by Debbie Robbins from Fidget Feet's marvellous new show The Elves and the Shoemaker which comes to An Grianán in December 2013
Meet Herman and Daisy,
They want to make shoes for your feet.
But they owe so much money they barely can eat.
Don’t worry though, because magic is always just around the corner. The Elves are here to help! And sometimes the answers are right above your head.
Fidget Feet’s The Elves & The Shoemaker is immersive storytelling with music and aerial circus for children aged between 4-8yrs and their families.
There is no stage, you will join them inside their workshop and actually help them to make the best pair of shoes ever made. This show is supported by The Arts Council, The Backstage Theatre, Longford and The Source Arts Centre, Thurles.
Herman, Daisy and the Elves need you!
4pm performance only: You can fly too!
After the main performance the children of the audience will have the opportunity to fly. There will be a short, thirty minute, aerial workshop supervised by the Fidget Feet cast and crew where children will learn some basic moves and lifts on Aerial Cocoons. This is an extremely fun, easy and safe introduction to Aerial for young children.

As I showed here www.flickr.com/photos/mcbeth/439677/ Artie had surgery to remove a tumor from his forehead.
The night he returned post-op, and in the cover of sleepy darkness, Fidget sought Artemis out for snuggling. She began a serious freak attack that continues today.
We're not sure what it is that has her so alarmed.
It could be the medicinal 'vet' smell he reeked of (alcohol wipes, anesthesia, blood, gauze wraps to help stop bleeding).
It could be that his facial markings have changed - stripes are now a dark blob on his forehead where the tumor was deeply/widely removed and the remaining skin was stretched, then stitched. Maybe she doesn't recognize her buddy?
The perp (aka Fidget) has been remanded to nightly removal, subject to evening domicile in the basement area where she is currently spending nighttime alone, safely for all.
:D Took the family out for some photos. I think everyone cooperated nicely. No fidgeting, no whining, it was great!

Limerick wrapped up the successful year of City of Culture with family friendly events from 10am to 10pm today. A singalong of the popular Disney movie 'Frozen' started the day followed by the Winter Carnival at the Milk Market, then the final fling with the return of "Are you dancing?". The evening was finished off on a moment of calm and reflection in St. Mary's Cathedral with the RTE Concert Orchestra and the music of Micheal O Suilleabhain.
