But since I had no form I could feel all possible forms in myself, and all actions and expressions and possibilities of making noises, even rude ones. In short, there were no limitations to my thoughts, which weren't thoughts, after all, because I had no brain to think them; every cell on its own thought every thinkable thing all at once, not through images, since we had no images of any kind at our disposal, but simply in that indeterminate way of feeling oneself there, which did not prevent us from feeling ourselves equally there in some other way.

These photos are failures from a strictly technical standpoint: a tripod (which I didn't have at the time) is required for really good photos of fireworks displays; I decided to steady my camera as much as possible, and hope for the best—one or two might turn out. They did turn out, in fact, but not in the way I was hoping. The photographs in this set are as imperfect as they are perfect, and reveal an unexpected beauty in the night sky that is truly captivating in a way that's difficult to describe.

I decided to pair each photo with a passage from one of Calvino's Cosmicomic stories, many of which are recounted by Qfwfq, an omnipresent, timeless, protean narrator. Each Cosmicomic story is fun, compelling, and extremely inventive, while presenting a version of reality that is completely obvious and (un)commonplace.

"You know something? Last night I dreamed that a Dinosaur was to go past my house," Fern-flower said to me, "a magnificent Dinosaur, a Prince or a King of Dinosaurs. I made myself pretty, I put a ribbon on my head, and I leaned out of the window. I tired to attact the Dinosaur's attention, I bowed to him, but he didn't even seem to notice me, didn't even deign to glance at me..."

Roger Water performed his final concert of 2012 at Les Plaines d'Abraham in Quebec City. This photo shows you the massive opening fireworks at the beginning of the show. The shot was taken from the other side of the St-Lawrence River and shows the beauty of the city along with the amazing fireworks from the concert. This is a night a lot of people will never forget!

Thx for your generosity and great show, Hungary! - Hope we’ll succeed in giving you as much when invited/going to your country!

Fireworks over the Lot river.

Not one of my best fireworks shoot but I like it anyway. This one was hard to shoot because the there were rockets alternatively high in the sky and very low near the ground. I could not aim at both so I choosed to shoot only the high ones. This photo is not perfectly framed but is one of the best of the sequence.
