Fireworks from the Washington Nationals Park. The baseball park does fireworks the night before Independence Day. This is from Gravelly Point Park. I went in hopes of some supermoon shots but the clouds didn't clear. I got fireworks instead. #fireworks #GravellyPoint #WashingtonNationals
On New Year's Eve, illegal amateur fireworks cracked all over Brussels, in addition to the official one on ''Place des Palais'' (the biggest, top-right green one).
This is a composition of many photos framed identically and taken around midnight on January 1, 2023, from the same spot on the top of the Brusilia Residence in Schaerbeek (Brussels).
I wish you a happy and healthy year 2023.
May it shine with a thousand lights!

I had tried. But I was never satisfied. Yesterday tripod without remote control (lack of foresight) I set out to follow the steps to make this type of photography. Search on the internet. And this was the result. Of course, they are a sign, because I have more. I hope you like it.
This year again, Brussels' official fireworks were cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but that didn't stop illegal amateur fireworks from cracking all over town…

Brussels' New Year parties ended up under gorgeous skies, but rain started falling in the afternoon of Jan 1, 2022, and kept on pouring for a few days…

The new year starts in Brussels with gigantic fireworks behind the Atomium.
As previous years, I wanted to shoot it from the 34th floor of the Brusilia Residence, 4.3 km away (nearly 3 miles).
But unfortunately, it was very foggy, so here's another photo I shot on January 1st 2018 at 00:01.
Happy 2020 regardless!
The Atomium was designed by André Waterkeyn and built for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair.
It stands 102 meters (335 ft) tall.
It has nine steel spheres connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.

Thank You dear Flickr friends for your inspiration.
My Admiration to Vincent Van Gogh.
"Vincent Willem van Gogh (Dutch: [ˈvɪnsɛnt ˈʋɪləm vɑn ˈɣɔx] 30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Post-Impressionist painter of Dutch origin whose work—notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty, and bold color—had a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art. After years of painful anxiety and frequent bouts of mental illness, he died aged 37 from a gunshot wound, generally accepted to be self-inflicted (although no gun was ever found).
He began to draw as a child, and he continued to draw throughout the years that led up to his decision to become an artist. He did not begin painting until his late twenties, completing many of his best-known works during the last two years of his life. In just over a decade, he produced more than 2,100 artworks, consisting of 860 oil paintings and more than 1,300 watercolors, drawings, sketches, and prints. His work included self portraits, landscapes, still lifes, portraits as well as paintings of cypresses, wheat fields and sunflowers.
He spent his early adulthood working for a firm of art dealers, traveling between The Hague, London, and Paris, after which he taught for a time in England at Isleworth and Ramsgate. One of his early aspirations was to become a pastor, and from 1879 he worked as a missionary in a mining region in Belgium, where he began to sketch people from the local community. In 1885, he painted his first major work, entitled The Potato Eaters. His palette at the time consisted mainly of somber earth tones and showed no sign of the vivid coloration that distinguished his later work. In March 1886, he moved to Paris and discovered the French Impressionists. Later, he moved to the south of France and was influenced by the strong sunlight he found there. His work grew brighter in color, and he developed the unique and highly recognizable style that became fully realized during his stay in Arles in 1888. The extent to which his mental health affected his painting has been a subject of speculation since his death. Despite a widespread tendency to romanticize his ill health, modern critics see an artist deeply frustrated by the inactivity and incoherence brought about by his bouts of illness. According to art critic Robert Hughes, Van Gogh's late works show an artist at the height of his ability, completely in control and "longing for concision and grace".

Y es que como en cualquier fiesta que se precie y aún más en todo el levante español, los fuegos artificiales con su espectacular colorido, sonido y olor, están íntimamente ligados con la fiesta.

This photograph, taken from the Café Le Bourguet in Forcalquier, shows people waiting for the start of the fireworks to celebrate the fête nationale.
The fête nationale is celebrated on 14 July each year in France. It commemorates (amongst other things) the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789; hence, in the English speaking world, it is often simply referred to as "Bastille Day".
I selected this for the category "Wild at Heart" for World Photography Day 2025
