Right after the rain stopped this afternoon, I went out with Ouzo and the kit lens, and played in the wet grass.
Wish the focus would have been better, but this was the best from a number of tries - pretty hard for the camera to focus on a moving target at this velocity and short distance.
Maybe my 24-70 lens could have done better, but again, maybe I wouldn't have risked it for this type of shot - LOL
In Ouzo's defense, he didn't bump me or the camera - not even once, but there were a few times when I closed my eyes and looked away, bracing for impact :)

Meg having loads of fun at the beach fetching this bit of seakelp in and out of the waves.Very eco friendly no ball or stick required.
I've previously mentioned that black skimmers exhibit behaviors similar to those of dogs--a yipping/barking call (like a small dog) and resting prone with chin on ground/sand. And here's another. I mean, is there really that much difference between what's pictured here and this?

Our Daily Challenge - Apr 14, 2019: "Open Sesame..."
My Golden Retrievers have all been natural retrievers - no training required to get them to bring thrown balls back.
Getting them to release the ball thereafter?
Well, that's a different story.
Since I play retrieve for my fun and their exercise, I choose the Lazy Woman's Way... I use two balls.
The instant they release the one in their mouth I throw the one in my hand.
Yes, the first few days I spend more time standing there with a slimy ball in hand than I do throwing it, but these are smart dogs and they soon catch on.
I'm sure purists would not be impressed, but it works.
Eventually, they've all come to realize the game works MUCH better when they drop the ball as soon as they return, as shown here, with Toby dropping the one in his mouth as he comes roaring up to me.
If you look close you can even see the spit!
Once they get the idea, I add a hand signal, and soon I've "trained" a Drop command!

You don't really expect to see him swimming in a pool that doesn't have a deep end, do you??...LOL!
