“What is Creative Mondays?

Monday’s are always a drag. The start of a new week, you have to go back to that routine of going to bed early/get up early. If (like me) you have to commute then you prepare for that long journey into work and that long journey back for the first time after a nice two day break.

So to kick off those lousy Mondays, I’m going to get my creative mind flowing in a positive way. Creative Mondays. A chance for me to show off something unfinished or finished that I’ve been working on throughout the previous week.”

The new year brings in all those thoughts of a fresh start and what to do next. I had this “most popular” quote from Ferris Bueller running through my head all week so I figured I’d create a quick typography poster around the phrase.

C’mon people it’s 2014 already. Save Ferris.

370 Beech Street

Highland Park, IL

Architect: James Speyer

Speyer was a student of Mies and the International Style. The house rests on raised pylons like the Farnsworth House. There is privacy in the ravine setting and the 25 x 40 living room has plate glass windows on three sides to connect with the outside view. The exterior also has natural cypress siding. The other building on the property is a car pavilion jutting out over the ravine on steel pilings, which could not be built today because of zoning laws. This was a later addition done by Speyer's student David Haid. But this building was most famous for the Ferrari crash scene in Ferris Bueller. The Roses made no changes to the design and lived here until this past year.

Sadly unable to think of anything to add to the description here. If only Mr T. had a catchphrase of some kind....
