"You're my baby and I love you

You can take a pound of love and cook it in the stew

And when you've finished doing that, I know what you'll wanna do

'Cause you're my baby and I love you

I'm your baby, do you love me?

I can drive a Cadillac across the Irish Sea

But when I've finished doing that, I know where I'll wanna be

'Cause I'm your baby, and you love me

"You're not a ship to carry my life

You are nailed to my love in many lonely nights

I've strayed from the cottages and found myself here

For I need your love your love protects my fears

And I wonder sometimes and I know I'm unkind

But I need you to turn to when I act so blind

And I need you to turn to when I lose control

You're my guardian angel who keeps out the cold

Did you paint your smile on, well I said I knew

That my reason for living was for loving you

We're related in feeling but you're high above

You're pure and you're gentle with the grace of a dove..."

The Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) is a very rare subspecies of tiger. The Siberian tiger is also known as the Amur tiger, Korean tiger, Manchurian tiger, North China tiger, or Ussuri tiger, depending on its location. Research has shown that the Siberian tiger is genetically almost identical to the Caspian tiger, which became extinct in 1970. It is the largest of the felines. (Wikipedia)

Cleopatra VII (69–30 BC) was queen of ancient Egypt, the last member of the Ptolemaic dynasty and thus the last Hellenistic ruler of Egypt. She is the best-known of the several Egyptian queens of the same name. Cleopatra's story has fascinated writers and artists throughout the centuries. This appeal stemmed largely from her legend as a great seductress who was able to seduce the two most powerful men of her time (Julius Caesar and Mark Antony). (Wikipedia)

Trying to look intelligent

In case the teacher looked at me

She was long and she was lean

She's a middle-aged dream

And that lady means the whole world to me

It's a natural achievement

Conquering my homework

With her image pounding in my brain

She's an inspiration

For my graduation

And she helps to keep the classroom sane

The Tour de France Femmes, or Tour de France for Women, is a multi-stage cycling race for women in France.

In 1955, a single women's Tour de France was held, in which 41 cyclists participated. The race consisted of five stages.

Between 1984 and 2009, several races were considered the Tour de France for women. From 2014 to 2021, a one-day women's race (La Course) was held during the men's Tour de France.

Since 2022 a multi-stage race for women has been held. In 2025, the race will be over nine stages.

"And I think of you now

As a dream that I had long ago

In a kingdom lost in time

In a forest of evening

The archer is bending a bow

And I see you bring him bread and wine

Down the legions of years

The invaders have taken this land

And bent you to their will

And the memories fade of the ancients

And all that they had

Though the magic lingers round you still

And the future is certain

"Early one morning the sun was shining

I was laying in bed

Wondering if she'd changed at all

If her hair was still red

Her folks they said our lives together

Sure was gonna be rough

They never did like mama's homemade dress

Papa's bankbook wasn't big enough

And I was standing on the side of the road

Rain falling on my shoes

Heading out for the East Coast

Lord knows I've paid some dues

Getting through

Tangled up in blue.

She was married when we first met

Soon to be divorced

I helped her out of a jam I guess

But I used a little too much force

We drove that car as far as we could

Abandoned it out West

Split up on a dark sad night

Both agreeing it was best

She turned around to look at me

As I was walking away

I heard her say over my shoulder

"We'll meet again someday

on the avenue"

Tangled up in blue.

I had a job in the great north woods

Working as a cook for a spell

But I never did like it all that much

And one day the ax just fell

So I drifted down to New Orleans

so I lucky was to be employed

Working for a while on a fishing boat

Right outside of Delacroix

But all the while I was alone

The past was close behind

I seen a lot of women

But she never escaped my mind

And I just grew

Tangled up in blue.

She was working in a topless place

And I stopped in for a beer

I just kept looking at the side of her face

In the spotlight so clear

And later on when the crowd thinned out

I was just about to do the same

She was standing there in back of my chair

Said to me, "Don't I know your name?"

I muttered something underneath my breath

She studied the lines on my face

I must admit I felt a little uneasy

When she bent down to tie the laces

Of my shoe

Tangled up in blue.

She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe

"I thought you'd never say hello," she said,

"You look like the silent type."

Then she opened up a book of poems

And handed it to me

Written by an Italian poet

From the thirteenth century

And every one of them words rang true

And glowed like burning coal

Pouring off of every page

Like it was written in my soul

From me to you

Tangled up in blue

I lived with them on Montague street

In a basement down the stairs

There was music in the cafés at night

And revolution in the air

Then he started into dealing with slaves

And something inside of him died

She had to sell everything she owned

And froze up inside

And when it finally the bottom fell out

I became withdrawn

The only thing I knew how to do

Was to keep on keeping on

Like a bird that flew

Tangled up in blue.

So now I'm going back again

I got to get to her somehow

All the people we used to know

They're an illusion to me now

Some are mathematicians

Some are carpenter's wives

Don't know how it all got started

I don't know what they do with their lives

But me I'm still on the road

A-heading for another joint

We always did feel the same

We just saw it from a different point

Of view

Tangled up in blue...."

"Take me back to Chicago

Lay my soul to rest

Where my life was free and easy

Remember me at my best

Take me back to Chicago

Where music was all I had

I tried to be good as I could

And sometimes that made me sad

Take me back to Chicago

To Chicago, oh oh

Why don't you take me back?

Take me back, take me back

To Chicago

I still dream of the lake of peacefulness

The warm summer breeze

'Cause my life was so much simpler then

Street corners and Tastee Freeze

Take me back to Chicago

'Cause hustling's not my style

L.A. was just a bit too hard

I wish I could be a child

Living back in Chicago

In Chicago, whoa

Take me back, take me back, take me back

To Chicago

To Chicago oh oh

Take me back to Chicago

And lay my soul to rest

Where my life was free and easy

Remember me at my best

Take me back to Chicago

'Cause hustling's not my style

Avalon, in this saga, is a place "hidden in the mists," accessible only to those who can summon the magical boat and find the island. According to the saga, this is the island where King Arthur rests after his wound by Mordred at the Battle of Camlann, having been brought there by his half-sister Morgan le Fay or three other priestesses. According to some legends, he rests there until he awakens again to save England. According to the same legend, Avalon is the island where Excalibur was once forged. (wikipedia)

"I was looking for America, in a western movie

Saw a young gun slinger with something to prove

And i came looking... Like anybody else

I came searching...Like anybody else

Looking for that golden calf

And i came shooting for the stars, like any young blood

I found a fat cat city and crooked judge

I killed anything standing in my path

I killed anything till i laid my hands

Laid' em on the golden calf

Now it's our last stand in open country

This is my last chance to be with you

This is the last dance for this kind of man

I'm still looking for something to prove...."

Oh, do you know you have the face of a genius?

I'll send your love to Zeus

Oh, by the time you read this, I'll be well in touch

You and me on the bobbing knee

Didn't we cry at that old mythology he'd read?

I will come home again, but not until

The sun and the moon meet on yon hill

I'm giving it all in a moment or two

I'm giving it all in a moment for you

I'm giving it all, giving it, giving it, giving it

This kicking here inside makes me leave you behind

No more under the quilt to keep you warm

Your sister, I was born

You must lose me like an arrow shot into the killer storm

Threw some dead wood on the fire

Tuned the radio to silence

Watched the evening sun expire

Should have called you up this morning

But I'm such a fool at times

Craftsmanship, at its core, is the demonstrated ability to manipulate materials and techniques to achieve a specific artistic vision. This manipulation is not arbitrary; it is determined by a deep understanding of materials science, physics, and the inherent limitations and possibilities within a given medium.

The earliest artifacts in which prehistoric humans may have been able to express themselves artistically and that are generally accepted as art date back to the Upper Paleolithic. This includes the famous cave paintings of Grotte Chauvet, Altamira, Pech Merle, Nerja, and the Lascaux Caves (Wikipedia).

1981 - On the train ride from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi, I met this girl. She was on her way to a floating market somewhere along the Kwai River. She didn't speak English, and I didn't speak Thai. Yet, we struck in a sort of conversation.

I got off the train at the famous bridge over the Kwai River. She continued on. I never saw her again. Yet, her image has always remained in my mind.

"Did I see you down

In a young girl's town

With your mother in so much pain?

I was almost there

At the top of the stairs

With her screaming in the rain

Did she wake you up to tell you that

It was only a change of plan?

Dream up, dream up

Let me fill your cup

With the promise of a man

Did I see you walking with the boys?

Though it was not hand-in-hand

And was some black face in a lonely place

When you could understand?

Did she wake you up to tell you that

It was only a change of plan?

Dream up, dream up

Let me fill your cup

With the promise of a man

Will I see you give more than I can take?

Will I only harvest some?

As the days fly past

Will we lose our grasp

Or fuse it in the sun?

Did she wake you up to tell you that

It was only a change of plan?

Dream up, dream up

Let me fill your cup

With the promise of a man..."

SHOOT DOWN THE MOON

Oh no I don't want it

You can take it all

I'll put my money where my mouth is

Put your suitcase in the hall

Oh you robbed me blind

Or what little hope remains

You put a gun to my head

A bullet through my brain

You can't shoot down the moon

Some things never change

We can build a bridge between us

But the empty space remains

Just as long as you're around

We live on borrowed time

I'll put my money where my mouth is

You're guilty at the scene of the crime

I never say more than I need

The mystery runs deep

The dangers buried below

The secrets that you keep...

Anne Bonny (1702-1782) was an Irish-American female pirate who operated in the Caribbean Sea in the early eighteenth century. She and her crewmate, Mary Read, were known as the only two female pirates in the Western world. She attracted the attention of authorities, authors, the press, and society of her time through her daring and unconventional lifestyle. During her short but productive piracy career, she made a name for herself as one of the most notorious pirates of her time. Although she never captained her own ship, she achieved considerable fame and a lasting legacy as a female pirate at a time when Western society frowned upon women who abandoned their assigned social roles. Last night, a little angel came pumpin' on my floor

She said, "A-come, baby, you got a license for love

And if it expires, pray help from above"

Because

She don't like slavery, she won't sit and beg

But when I'm tired and lonely, she sees me to bed

A-what set you free and brought you to me, babe?

What set you free? I need you here by me

Well, he's out all night to collect a fare

A-just so long, just so long it don't mess up his hair

Whoa, ah

I walked the world for you, babe

A thousand miles with you

I dried your tears of pain, babe

A million times for you

I'd sell my soul for you, babe

For money to burn for you

I'd give you all and have none, babe

Just to, just to, just to, a-just to, to have you here by me

Because

Where we piled on the front steps like stray cavaliers

Our code of living meant little to others

The few francs we saved bought some cheap souvenirs

But the red lights where the catfights make it just like Belgium

See us face down on the floor of another cheap barroom

Streetwalkers sweet talk you out of your spare change

And your sweet madam makes it seem just like Belgium

Then you and I will make circles in the sky

Circles in the sky, circles in the sky..."

Listening to the music of the Beatles, yeah, yeah, yeah!

"Da da da da da dum dum da

Da da da da da dum dum da

If there's anything that you want

If there's anything I can do

Just call on me and I'll send it along

With love from me to you

I've got everything that you want

Like a heart that's oh so true

Just call on me and I'll send it along

With love from me to you

I got arms that long to hold you

And keep you by my side

I got lips that long to kiss you

And keep you satisfied, oooh

If there's anything that you want

If there's anything I can do

Just call on me and I'll send it along

With love from me to you

From me, to you

Just call on me and I'll send it along

With love from me to you

I got arms that long to hold you

And keep you by my side

I got lips that long to kiss you

And keep you satisfied, oooh

If there's anything that you want

If there's anything I can do

Just call on me and I'll send it along

With love from me to you

To you, to you, to you..."

"I've seen the bright lights of Memphis

And the Commodore Hotel

And underneath a street lamp, I met a southern belle

Oh she took me to the river, where she cast her spell

And in that southern moonlight, she sang this song so well

If you'll be my Dixie chicken I'll be your Tennessee lamb

And we can walk together down in Dixieland

Down in Dixieland...."
