day 39/366 : sun
yeah... the sun decided to not show its face today... so my little shadow drew a picture of it instead. :)
These are a few of my favorite things -- salmon + cream cheese wrapped in tortilla, ice-cold Coke, DIY projects (bracelet), Sherlock Holmes, Christopher Pike, DIY books, London, taking photos, TV episode marathon, and Twitter.
I took my son out for brunch at Magnolia Cafe South. I thought I had gone wrong as a parent, somehow when he sat across from me still playing the game he had started while we were waiting to be seated. I was relieved when the waiter brought paper and crayons and my son turned the Touch off and handed it to ma saying, "Mom, I'm all done with Angry Birds now, I want to color."
I've been sick for the past few days, but yesterday I felt well enough to go out for some errands, and it was a beautiful day. I so love where we live.
Today's theme is my view. I hopped into my car this morning, looked up through the sunroof and this is what I saw. Sunshine through the rain.
"You're staying home. The sun is shining but it's raining."

A component of a public sculpture called 'Mercury Rising' by artist/sculptor, Matthew Harding: matthewharding.com.au/
Located on Elizabeth Street, the work (which includes two other shiny forms) has the dual function of providing seating on one of Melbourne's busiest shopping strips while making an artistic statement about the impact of climate change. Made of mirror-polished stainless steel, the shiny, blob-like forms represent mercury rising from the pavement, while the inlaid contours beneath suggest "isobar lines of high and low pressure weather cells".
I love it.
