What I'm listening to....
Really, this comes down to what's going on in my life on any given day. I have a fairly broad selection of music at my fingertips, and sometimes I need it to pick me up, settle me down, or sometimes I just need something to fill the gaps in my day.
Some of my fondest memories of growing up were centred around music. It was a part of our lives, even if we weren't a musical family in the strictest sense. I hung on to a lot of the nostalgic sounds of my childhood (I've heard that at the age of 14 we first start to develop our "own" musical preferences) -- maybe because they remind me of my father, or maybe because they're just stuck there.
Anyway...here's what I'm listening to today. Something new and local (Joel Plaskett's "Through & Through & Through"), something recommended to me by a friend (Miike Snow's "Animal"), and something for my father (Harry Chapin's "Mr. Tanner"). The last selection brings me back to being five years old again, standing barefoot on our orange living room shag carpet, helping my dad thread the reel-to-reel and trying on his headphones which were far too big for my head, but which made me feel grown up.

This is #20 in a February photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "handwriting."
I hardly ever write anything by hand anymore. But, I like it.
If you look close you can see my reflection in the puddle. I'm wearing one of my favorite "special" pairs of hightop Converse today. I can't wear high tops with skirts or capris, it's too weird! The second wedding anniversary is Canvas, my dear heart special ordered these for me that year -- funny thing is I had bought him the same thing (his fav black hightop Converse). I guess great minds think alike!
I didn't take this. Jason at tranq.com did. I'm just keeping it here for the benefit of the grandsprogs, should there be any.
I am now repurposing this seven year old photo to add to the febphotoaday group. My nine months pregnant self sighs and is thankful to have this kicking around for posterity. We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
032 - My view today, post lunch workout. I won't like; I'm scared of heights, but I really want to get on the roof of this building.
Can you guess where i was today? Dental Panorama of my teeth in preparation for an implant. I did take the picture, and it is me, so I think it counts!
The sun shining through the trees on my street which was recently paved and decorated with these beautiful new yellow stripes.
Since it was overcast yesterday, I decided to combine Day 8 with Day 9. So, here is a picture of the sun shining on the front passenger door of my Jeep :-) (can't wait for warm weather so we can go topless)
Someone had put up the cover of Time magazine with Mitt Romney’s photo… it looked like later on someone had scrawed “No I Don’t!” in pen on the photo. New Hampshire has a love / hate relationship with politics, and this seemed to capture the kind of violent rhetoric that we keep hearing on the radio.
