038 - Work has been kicking my ass. I actually didn't get to take this until early morning on the 8th, but oh well. I still count it as the 7th.
This is #28 in a February photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "money."
This is a little tin of change that I keep at the office... mostly for coffee. We have Keurig coffee machines and it costs a quarter per K-Cup.
In general I feel like bathroom cabinets are a dangerous place in life. They're not cleaned nearly often enough, and their contents are often a mixture of ointments, salves, pills, and what-nots with varying expiration dates - some long gone by.
Thinking of today's challenge I wanted a picture that looked interesting, but not gross - especially in the way that bathroom cabinets can be gross. To finally get this picture I had to climb onto the sink and shoot from above. For a moment I hesitated to climb up on the sink to stare through a viewfinder, only to decide that it was the only way to really get the shot I wanted.
This is #22 in a February photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "where you work."
I work at Legacy Publishing in Westbrook. We have three locations. But, I work in the main office, which is the building that used to be St. Mary's Catholic school, built in the early 1900s. Fortunately, they don't make us wear plaid skirts to work.

My screen saver at work. I have to have a Windoze computer for my company's VOIP phone system. The screen saver on the Windoze computer says "I'm not a Mac. :-("
This is #15 in a February photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge..."phone."
At 10am today, I had just arrived at my mother's house for a visit. This is the house that I grew up in. I took this photo today and then applied effects to it to make it look like an old photo.
Love for Sale. This is #14 in a February photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge..."heart." This heart is courtesy of the "Valentine Bandit," which has been plastering these hearts around the greater Portland, Maine area since 1976.

This is the door knob to our building. It looks like it's seen better days, but something about that is endearing, even intriguing. It's easy to forget that our scratches and scuffs are sometimes our most interesting qualities.
This is #16 in a February photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge..."new." The Calm Parent is a new program that Legacy Publishing came out with recently, and this is an ad that I designed to promote it.

I got these in my 20s but am excited for a real reason to dust them off. Sexy shoes i got, but these workhorses scream "I change a mean diaper and buy organic." in case you won't be able to tell by the moby wrap and desperate look in my eyes.
Is that gum? Oops. Oh well.
My goal is to shoot all of these #febphotoaday photos with my phone. I haven't found a timer app that I like. So, in order to get both hands in the shot, I had to shoot it this way with a mirror.
Dinner was a fried egg on toast, mashed red potatoes and onions, chicken and sun dried tomato pasta salad, a cup of earl gray, and a Vermont brewed IPA.
Where did a month go?! Today's challenge is a something that you're listening to. I stumbled onto Jameel thanks to Facebook. He's been my first go-to artist while I've been here in Arizona, and I haven't been sorry for one moment.
Now I just have to decide if I'm going to do another month of photos.
And clearly I have more work to do. Note the groceries still waiting to be put away. But it's been SUCH a busy day, I think I'll wait a little longer to put them away.
This actually hangs just outside my bathroom, across from my vanity counter. This is where I keep hair products, lots of deodorant (I guess I'm worried I smell?) and extra makeup. I have LOADS of makeup.
Day 15: Photo a Day: February 2012 Challenge. Theme: Favourite Shoes.
Today's theme has been a bit of a challenge .... I think a lot of women would find it hard to identify one pair of shoes as their favourite ... but I decided on this pair because even though I hardly ever wear them ... they really are quite sexy!
