There are beautiful farms all around Lancaster, PA. I was not looking for farms this evening, There is a covered bridge just to the left of this frame that was the reason for me to be here on this evening; the bridge was not as interesting as I hoped. So, running out of daylight, I turned my attention to this farm.

Mature fields of Grosso, Super, Royal Velvet and a variety of English lavenders are available for cutting. Our landscape demonstrates the wonderful versatility of lavender along with many roses, grasses and other perennials.
Our farm is a breath of fresh air and beauty filled with flowers, whimsical antique surprises, fairy gardens, and acres of Noble Fir trees.
Helvetia, a historic Swiss settlement, 30 minutes west of Portland, is a beautiful countryside of rolling hills overlooking the scenic Willamette Valley. The Pacific Crest Alpaca farm with purebred alpacas and the Helvetia Winery are both adjacent neighbors. Helvetia Tavern of the famous hamburgers is a nearby landmark.

In western Iowa most of the fishing is for warm water species such as bass, bluegill, and crappie. This is usually done in farm ponds and rivers like the Missouri, Big Sioux, and Little Sioux. My favorite time is the hour before sunset until it is dark.
This is a shot of the Boxwood Gardens at the Rose Hill Mansion. At the time of the restoration of Rose Hill Mansion the boxwood gardens had totally disappeared in a tangle of weeds and underbrush. They were reconstructed from the Survey of Rose Hill Farm by W.R. Hopkins in 1853 and from a photograph of 1875. There are now 15 boxwood beds with the original Greek Revival well house in the backyard. In the back there are two trellises. The mansion is on Route 96A in Geneva, NY.

Moses Thomas was a significant figure in the history of the area now known as the City of Whittlesea, Victoria. Thomas and Ann and their family lived at "Mayfield", Mernda, Victoria.

Pre-picked (if you're too lazy to go in the field and pick your own). Who goes to an apple picking farm for pre-picked apples tho?
It was a pretty hefty haul today from the farm. We got two huge bunches of basil, six peppers, six zucchinis, two and a quarter pounds of chard, three pounds of tomatoes, a pound a half of huge cherry tomatoes, four and a half pounds of potatoes, two and a quarter pounds of onions, three heads of garlic, and two watermelons (we were entitled to three. And one isn't pictured here because Schnookie dropped it on the driveway while unloading the car). Our pick-your-own haul was a pint of husk cherries, three quarts of okra, three quarts of green beans, 18 hot peppers, and two bunches of herbs (oregano and sage -- gotta start planning for the holidays).
