The osprey is found year-round in Florida both as a nesting species and as a spring and fall migrant passing between more northern areas and Central and South America.

Originally banded at Shell Key in 2020 as a pre-fledgling (about 5 or 6 years old in 2025) as part of a research project.

Other locations sighted: As far south as Longboat Key, Braden River and Manatee River

I got a bunch of crappy shots of this fellow, but I think it's a Pine. Yellow specs, white belly and under tail, and the tail looks good for a pine.

The falcon(s) chased the blue jays down the golf course, almost out of site. Then flew back to where the action was and where its sibling was.

I got two runs like this, this one started with the ballistic dive, The first picture was the fully collapsed wings and blurry. The first run ended with the fully collapsed wings and blurry.

There was so much light coming off him that I didn't realize it was a blue jay at first. The colour evaporated.

The first of the season Junco arrived on October 4th. However, today 2-3 dozen of his friends showed up.

During migration and in winter, Sandwich Terns stay in the same kinds of coastal and island habitats, resting and roosting on beaches as well as human-made structures such as piers, jetties, and pilings. They forage close to shore in shallow ocean waters as well as in rivermouths, estuaries, lagoons, and inlets.
