Lens-baby long(ish) expo of the seasonal fairground. Taken whilst on my way to visit Livingston Camera Club a couple of weeks ago.
Counting Leeds Jct itself, there are 5 or 6 places you can meet the Rumford jobs between Allen Ave in Portland and up the line. This day the meet was set to take place at Hacketts but was pushed down to Blake after a tardy PORU departed Portland.
Seen here at 'Fairgrounds', which is yet another meeting place, RUPO cruises along past the vulnerable MEC Searchlights.

I had this book since i was a kid 'Circus and Fairground transport' and the best pic in the book i thought was this mighty machine The 'Gladiator' and years later look what happens.....
This Foden FG of Anderton & Rowland's Dodgems has, despite looking in good order, no longer survived, not being on the DVLA database. UTO445 was seen in Exeter on 16 April 1974.

I can't find my Brownie Hawkeye Flash camera with the flipped lens anywhere which is a shame because if you get the distances right it produced some startling images.
Fairground art shows many similarities to canal-boat painting and to gypsy caravan art - not surprising really, but it is interesting the way it has persisted
