Yesterday, Beaulieu had it's Fireworks Spectacular event, it is always worth seeing and extremely well attended, getting out of the carpark takes some considerable time.
The Junior Livestock Building was constructed in 1937 as one of the Great Depression-era federal Works Progress Administration (WPA) projects on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. In 1997, the building was renamed in honor of Orion Samuelson, a retired radio broadcaster who was heard on WGN radio in Chicago for sixty years as the station's head agriculture broadcaster from 1960 through 2020.
This view looking toward the south shows the huge livestock barn. The livestock barn has two levels with 1,100 cattle ties in the lower level and 765 pens in the upper level. Inside are two shows rings of 7,200 and 5,400 square feet.
It was hard to get a good shot of this ride as its so tall. I had to stand really far back but the street lights cast a orange cast on the top right of this shot. But its still a good shot I think.
Had a wonderful picture walk in Waterloo yesterday with several lovely flickrites to visit the Cans Festival.
It's that Twirly Thing again, from the slightly sinister fairground at the 76th Goodwood Member's Meeting. I'm sure that this type of ride must have a generic name, but I'm not sure what it might be. At least there weren't any clowns.
